Day 10: Post Office - 1:15pm
Who: OTA
What: Seven point five
When: 1:15pm - 5:00pm
Where: Post Office
Rating: TBA
Status: Active

The sun was shining high in the sky and a gentle breeze stroked the leaves of the trees, making them, along with the severed stub of rope on the clock face from the day previous sway lazily. It was quiet. Perhaps it was too quiet, for the lack of birds chirping or insects buzzing.

All in all, the day was one of the most pleasant as of yet for the bulk of the involuntary residents of Vas Captio, save, of course, the heat. Maybe it was a bit too hot to be entirely comfortable.

It started small, as most things do. A light shuddering from below made the counters creak and what post office boxes were left open swing slowly on their hinges. The front door groaned and then everything fell silent again.

Suddenly the tiny building shook and rattled to life. The walls protested with loud shrieks as wood splintered. Old crates of packing supplies exploded as they were thrown against the walls and counters full of heavy mailroom equipment went crashing to the floor. All in all, the tiny building did not sustain much structural damage but the front door popped open, its hinges shattering and leaving it wide open for anyone to enter and discover that in the miniscule room behind the post office boxes is a door leading down into a complex underground tunnel system.

Vas Captio was still, again, and silent once more.

Wow. This girl was a little off her rocker, wasn't she? Well, that happened sometimes. Even mutants had insane people among them. And perhaps she wasn't insane, just.. eccentric. Wasn't that what they liked to be called?

Weird. Pot calling the kettle black.. but weird.

"An' ran over 'de two of you? Well, 'de one of you, non? You look like you escape 'de wors' of it." Thanks to her friend Dean, of course. Dean. Hm. He focused on the next bubble as he popped it, before finally leaving them float in the air as he walked along side her through the thick forest. "'De steam comin' up outta 'de cracks? We didn' run into any of 'dat, luck'ly. When we get Dean back to 'de Gym, you have 'dat han' look at as well." Not a suggestion, but rather an order. Gambit did a lot of looking out for people, for someone who hated labeling himself as one of the 'good guys'.

Fingers curling up around the sore and painful flesh, Luna protectively brought her hand back up just under the hollow of her throat, the side of her hand against her sternum.

Each bubble popped in their wake as they passed, as if simply waiting to be seen by their creator again before they expired. Although she did look over and up, and up to look at his eyes again.

"The two of us," she agreed lightly. "He covered me, but is very hurt for it." Luna was a good deal lighter and more fragile than the more heavily built Winchester, and even then he had suffered many broken bones for it. "Yes, superheated air in the form of gaseous water." No, she was not quite as dim as most believed, as hard as that was to contemplate for most. "Dean first," she spoke in a calm tone, although she was agreeing that she would see a doctor once Dean was seen to first.

No, not dim. Just crazy.

But when she said that, his eyebrows raised. He, unlike her, was dimmer than most believed. He'd never been to a school. Never stepped foot in one before a few months ago when he'd joined up with the X-Men. All of his learning had come from practical use and from listening to others. He'd learn a great deal here, if he kept hanging around the Doctor. It'd be almost as good (if not better) than school, ultimately. He had street smarts in abundance, though.

"Dean firs'." He agreed in a simple tone. "How bad you t'ink he hur', Petite? An' how far into 'de fores' is he?" Gambit had a feeling that if this kid couldn't walk, he'd be stuck carrying him back, because this injured girl certainly couldn't help him.

This was going to suck. This hero stuff sucked.

Seven years of school, intense study broken up by periods of fighting, training and the short four months of kidnapping. Luna had learned the most extensive amount of Wizarding knowledge that they could teach her. All sorts of seemingly important information, as well as actually important information, and bizarre pieces of misinformation.

"Ribs, arm, wrists, hands, bones here and there all broken." She could do little, if anything to heal him, but she could at least see what was broken. "Something wrong with his shoulder, the joint is out of place." Luna wished Madame Pomfrey was there right then, she could magick him back into one piece with minimal pain in several blinks of an eye. Wandless magic might have opened up enough for the young witch, but she was not going to experiment with attempting healing magic. Which could easily go horribly awry, as she well knew.

No one needed an arm without bones.

"Short walk," she answered, without much solid measurement behind it. "If we follow the path."

"Aah, c'est malheureux. Disloca'e' shoul'er. Some of 'dat, I can fix. The shoul'er? Defini'ly. I set bones 'fore. He ain' gon' like it, but be bes' for him, so 'dey don' bump 'roun' while we gettin' him to see 'de doct'r." And as she announced that they needed to follow the path, the Cajun only nodded.

"Woul'n' do to get los' in 'de wood, while we tryin' to be 'de rescue par'y, non?" A light joke, though it seemed obvious to him that this girl wasn't particularly into joking. That was a shame. But she'd have to get used to it. Maybe her incapacitated friend would be more up for some light-hearted, Cajun-tainted humor.

"We gonna need sticks. An' his shir'." Assuming he was wearing a shirt, of course. Gambit would be perfectly fine with tearing it off of him and ripping it into strips to help stabilize some broken bones.

Oh, this was really going to hurt that kid. But the Cajun was looking forward to it.. sort of a payback, for his own dislocated shoulder this afternoon. It hadn't been Dean's fault of course.. but it didn't matter to Remy.

(And this thread now moves into the Forest)
