Day Eight: clone!Jack and OTA
Who: clone!Jack and OTA
What: clone!Jack is awake and ready for fun
When: Morning
Where: The Library
Rating: TBD
Status: Active

The morning was bright and beautiful when a new Jack opened his eyes. Stretched out between two stacks of books he was in exactly the place they had said he would be when he woke up. It felt good to stretch and he did it long and a little noisily. He couldn't not groan in pleasure as all of his muscles streeeetched and the circulation increased everywhere in his body. He sat up then and stretched again as he looked around to see what else he could see. As far as he could tell he was in a special collections section of the library. Full of large volumes behind glass cases. It was also where the back door was located.

The not quite Jack got to his feet and patted his chest with both hands. He took in a deep breath of air and let it out with a big smile and a sigh. "Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day. I've got a wonderful feeling everything's going my way!" His sing-song voice was a perfect baritone and he liked to hear it himself. So he continued to sing as he walked out the back door of the library to see if he could find someone to talk to or visit. Maybe he would even find Ianto! Then he could have coffee and a shag. Even though there was no coffee.

Jenny wasn't sure just how she had managed to get so turned around. Maybe it was because she was walking with her face in the book. That would do it. It had happened a lot when she was a child and a teenager too. She would get so involved in getting something down on paper that she would just drift away wherever the wind took her. She had been writing a particularly trenchant vignette about little twin girls lost in a boat, tossed on the salty sea. It was some of her best work and she wasn't sure why she felt so inspired other than it having something to do with the dire need to escape this place and her budding friendship with Shannon.

Of course, she had been pissy when she'd checked the journals and saw all the stupid commotion. She hadn't been trying to sleep at all but rather wanted some time to herself now that she felt less like things were out of control now that she could write. So she set off from the theater and now she was where?

Looking around, she saw a building that did not look familiar at all. A tall, darkly handsome man was striding away from it looking extremely pleased with himself. She wasn't sure she wanted to know what the fuck he had just been up to but she was lost now, she was sure of it.

"Excuse me," she called out, cocking her head with a sweet smile. "Can you please tell me what building this is? I need to get back to the theater."

If it was possible for his eyes to light up any more than they already had he wasn't sure but when the not quite Jack saw the little dark haired girl walking toward him he fairly beamed. Here was someone new! Someone he could talk to and he didn't have to ask for a visit first because she was already talking to him. He picked up speed and half ran toward her.

"Hi!" He stopped in front of her with his hands on his hips and his shoulders back. He knew he looked big and grand and perfect. He was Captain Jack Harkness and everyone loved Captain Jack. "How are you today? You're lost? I am sorry to hear that. This is the library and you can come inside if you want. It's warmer in there."

His words ran together quickly and he had to stop for a breath afterward. It was a lot of effort to smile and talk and breathe. He would get the hang of it though. He was confident. He could never fail!

Jenny nearly dropped her writing book and pen in the snow when the man started galloping toward her. Fumbling to put them away in her mohair bolero, she put her hands up defensively, almost afraid he was going to plow right into her.

"Whoa, what the fuck?" she asked, backing away a couple steps. He was larger than life and radiating a huge amount of crazy as far as Jenny could tell. Who ran at people like a big fucking golden retriever and stood like he belonged on a bottle of Captain Morgan? And then he was off rambling and she wanted to take a few more steps back from him but there was a large fallen tree in her way. Fuck! The only way away from him was by him now. He had practically cornered her.

"No, I don't want to go inside. I want to go back to the theater, please. Can you at least point me in the right direction?" She fought to keep her voice under control. She was both angry and just a bit scared that she had made the biggest mistake walking around outside with no one to protect her from nutjobs like this guy seemed to be.
