Day Two-Mid morning
Who: Sarah Vida, L (not putting his name Lexi 'cause I don't know how you're gonna play it), and Shizuka Domeki
What: Arrival
When: around 10ish
Where: In the woods
Rating: PG-13 to be safe
Status: Active

The darkness consumed Sarah. Flashes of scenes were forced before her eyes. Memories. His memories; she could tell almost instantly. Memories of the South, of hunting with Nikolas, blood bonding and fights. Gradually the memories turned more recent. She saw herself through his eyes.
As the rough taste of rust slowed in her throat she felt a sharp pain in her chest. A lunge and the sudden stop. Silence took over where the darkness left off. She forced her eyes open and looked at Kristopher. She didn't hate him. Even if she wanted to, she couldn't. Slowly she drifted back into unconciousness. So this is what death felt like...

Sarah felt the cold, damp ground before she awoke. Opening her eyes she saw the sun shine through the trees. Stiffly she pulled herself into a sitting position. The night's events came flooding back into her memory. She placed her hand on her chest, over the area her heart was supposed to be. Nothing. She felt nothing anymore. Just cold silence. Looking down at herself she realized she was still wearing the same clothes she wore when she went to Nikolas' house. Black tank, black shorts and her long leather coat. It had to have been just last night that she was changed. But how did she get to the woods? Perhaps Kristopher took her hunting and she didn't remember. No...he was back to feeding on humans. He wouldn't have been so kind. She glanced around noticed the other two boys with her. For a moment she became worried that she had killed them. That Kristopher did take her out hunting. However when she noticed one of them grunt in their sleep she relaxed a bit more. They were alive. That was good. At least she knew she wasn't a killer...yet.

This last idea suddenly made her a little nervous. If it was only last night that she was changed...and she had no recollection of feeding...that meant that she was not only new but also a starved vampire. Oh no... she worried. She didn't want to hurt either of them. But a piece of her was still human...a witch...Hopefully she could let that be enough to hold her back until she found some sort of animal to feed on.

But it still didn't explain the two boys and the woods. And she couldn't sense or smell Kristopher, Nikolas, or even Kaleo anywhere. Something wasn't right. She decided waking up the two boys for questioning was probably the best way to go at the moment. As a reflex, Sarah went for the knife at her back to defend herself if the situation called for it. But...nothing. Her knife was...gone? A Vida witch without their knives was like a fish out of water. It just didn't work. A fish cannot survive without water much like a Vida cannot survive without their knives. Frightened she began to check her boots...nothing. No...no,no,no,no! Sarah thought over and over to herself as she checked all of her hiding places. Nothing. No knives. She was worried. Those knives were wired to her magic. She couldn't understnad what she was going to do without them.

Perhaps one of them stole them? She wondered. Standing up she called to them, "What happened?!" she couldn't think of anything better to yell at them to wake up. If either of them somehow managed to drag her from Nikolas' house and steal her knives she didn't care what it took, she was going to get answers as well as her knives returned to her.

Raining. Bells. Drenched to the marrow and listening for thunder, hearing only silence on the day to end all days.

I do not want to die. I am caught between a a steep plunge into the street below this manic city, and turning softly and giving myself to my murderer. The hunter has become the hunted... he has changed, yet again, and there are lies tainting his voice when he speaks now. I do not need to be told that it is a matter of time before he ends my life neatly and without rousing suspicion.

I have already told Watari what to do. When one of us is killed, he will erase all the data we have compiled.

I apologize to my killer, wiping the damp from his cold feet, my knees feeling bony and frail through the last pair of jeans I will ever wear. He came out in the rain to look for me, and got wet himself, cutting short my speculation that it might be better to fall to my death than suffer a heart attack at the hand of my enemy. He seems confused. He is wondering if I have gone crazy, speaking and behaving the way I am. Maybe it is because I have never had a lover, and I long for human companionship before I return to the elements. Or perhaps it is simply because it is the last trick I can think to pull on him. This resignation, this sadness and true inability to connect for a final time... he understands it no more than I do. Therefore, we are even. I can feel like his victory is not as imminent, if my daft actions confuse him. What exactly do I have to lose, but I life I knowingly staked?

We are walking back, now. He is behind me. I am still dripping from the rain. I am about to announce my last plan to fool Light Yagami and expose his acts of murder to the world. If this plan is set in motion, Misa Amane will be found guilty, and Light will follow. A perfect conclusion that will never see completion, for I am about to die in the arms of my enemy with the pulsing red glow of a power outage showing our true faces to each other. He will be hideous in his triumph, and I will fade softly into the nonexistence my mortality condemns me to.

I will never see Kira caught.

I will never see many things.

L did not believe that there was a Hell, and if there was, that it certainly wasn't cold. Therefore, he could conclude, before waking fully, that he was not in Hell because he was, indeed, cold. He was curled in his typical fetal position, the rich, moist smell of the earth surrounding him and the mid-morning sun filtering softly onto his fair skin through the branches of the trees above. So abrupt was the shift in time and space that he was unable to fully process it immediately, preferring to stay down and wonder when he would, indeed, die. It was supposed to happen at any moment, after all... he had resigned himself to this death, and could not simply return to the blithe existence he'd had before.

However, a shrill female's voice had him sitting bolt-upright shortly, skittering backward, unable understand what she was asking. English. Latin-based Germanic language. My first language. He shook his head distractedly, trying to think of an answer when, as far back as he knew, this woman yelling was the only thing that had "happened." He glanced quickly at the other man, lying unconscious beside him, before warily drawing his knees to his chest and perching upright in an odd crouching position. "Please... calm down... the timbre of your voice gives me a headache," he said quietly. "Where is Light, and the Shinigami? I was supposed to die... I was going to be killed... I should not be alive, much less... here..." he took in his surroundings uneasily.
