Entry tags:!dropped, !incomplete, day 02, l lawliet, location: forest, sarah vida, shizuka domeki

Day Two-Mid morning
Who: Sarah Vida, L (not putting his name Lexi 'cause I don't know how you're gonna play it), and Shizuka Domeki
What: Arrival
When: around 10ish
Where: In the woods
Rating: PG-13 to be safe
Status: Active

The darkness consumed Sarah. Flashes of scenes were forced before her eyes. Memories. His memories; she could tell almost instantly. Memories of the South, of hunting with Nikolas, blood bonding and fights. Gradually the memories turned more recent. She saw herself through his eyes.
As the rough taste of rust slowed in her throat she felt a sharp pain in her chest. A lunge and the sudden stop. Silence took over where the darkness left off. She forced her eyes open and looked at Kristopher. She didn't hate him. Even if she wanted to, she couldn't. Slowly she drifted back into unconciousness. So this is what death felt like...

Sarah felt the cold, damp ground before she awoke. Opening her eyes she saw the sun shine through the trees. Stiffly she pulled herself into a sitting position. The night's events came flooding back into her memory. She placed her hand on her chest, over the area her heart was supposed to be. Nothing. She felt nothing anymore. Just cold silence. Looking down at herself she realized she was still wearing the same clothes she wore when she went to Nikolas' house. Black tank, black shorts and her long leather coat. It had to have been just last night that she was changed. But how did she get to the woods? Perhaps Kristopher took her hunting and she didn't remember. No...he was back to feeding on humans. He wouldn't have been so kind. She glanced around noticed the other two boys with her. For a moment she became worried that she had killed them. That Kristopher did take her out hunting. However when she noticed one of them grunt in their sleep she relaxed a bit more. They were alive. That was good. At least she knew she wasn't a killer...yet.

This last idea suddenly made her a little nervous. If it was only last night that she was changed...and she had no recollection of feeding...that meant that she was not only new but also a starved vampire. Oh no... she worried. She didn't want to hurt either of them. But a piece of her was still human...a witch...Hopefully she could let that be enough to hold her back until she found some sort of animal to feed on.

But it still didn't explain the two boys and the woods. And she couldn't sense or smell Kristopher, Nikolas, or even Kaleo anywhere. Something wasn't right. She decided waking up the two boys for questioning was probably the best way to go at the moment. As a reflex, Sarah went for the knife at her back to defend herself if the situation called for it. But...nothing. Her knife was...gone? A Vida witch without their knives was like a fish out of water. It just didn't work. A fish cannot survive without water much like a Vida cannot survive without their knives. Frightened she began to check her boots...nothing. No...no,no,no,no! Sarah thought over and over to herself as she checked all of her hiding places. Nothing. No knives. She was worried. Those knives were wired to her magic. She couldn't understnad what she was going to do without them.

Perhaps one of them stole them? She wondered. Standing up she called to them, "What happened?!" she couldn't think of anything better to yell at them to wake up. If either of them somehow managed to drag her from Nikolas' house and steal her knives she didn't care what it took, she was going to get answers as well as her knives returned to her.

"Stranger things?" Sarah questioned Ryuzkai. She wondered what sort of things he could have seen in his lifetime that overpowered the strangeness of being kidnapped and taken to a forest God knows where.
Looking over at Domeki, Sarah shook her head, "Not usually..." she knew all about revenge schemes and typically the captors liked to keep a close eye on them at all times. Though who knew if someone was watching them or not. She glanced around at the trees surrounding them.

"Thanks." Sarah took his journal and opened up to a new page and did the same with hers. She took the pen and wrote 'Hello' on it to see what would happen with the other one. The word showed up on Domeki's though it appeared in Japanese. "It seems they are connected...but...it translates everything..." she glanced up at the two, with a confused expression on her face. "What language are you speaking, right now?" she wanted to be sure her assumptions were correct.

"I don't know," L said, clearly annoyed with Domeki's question. "I can't deduce anything further with what we've been given. Understand that I share your circumstances, at least in the sense that we woke up in a forest together. If there is a possibility that you were the target of a plot for revenge, that is significant." Anything we might have in common is significant. "I can't say that there is any explanation, readily available or otherwise, that would make this 'reasonable.' Dismissal isn't an option yet, but one is never without a frame of reference. Our object is simply to define ours." Having said his piece, L tightened his lips and returned his attention to the journals, ignoring, for the moment, Sarah's inquiry after the "stranger things" he had mentioned. He was not about to go into details of the strangest case he had ever been a part of.

L found the fact that the journal translated languages to English, at least, and possibly the native language of the owner of the journal, very interesting indeed. He tilted his head, mulling over this latest phenomenon, wondering if someone would die because a notebook had been written in. He would probably never stop being paranoid about notebooks, now. "I'm speaking English," L said, without hesitation. "It is my second language after French." That answered one question about L, at least; though he might have looked it, he was not Japanese.

Domeki quickly came to the decision to simply let the argument with Ryuzaki lie - it would do him no good to push the other further when it was obvious that he was already becoming irritated and, besides, there was little that Domeki could think to say in response. He agreed, for the most part, that they needed to find their common frame of reference but he also found that he had rather sharp doubts as to whether either of the other two were being entirely honest in much of what they were saying. This did offer an interesting insight into the dynamics of the moment but it really didn't offer any useful information as to where they were or why they had been drawn to this particular forest.

In light of that, he merely shook his head and moved so that he could read the writing in his journal over Sarah's shoulder. He did find that, in her journal, he couldn't read a word of what she had written but the entry was quite clear on the page of his own - which meant that the journals naturally knew what languages to translate by individual owner.

"I don't know anything that can translate like that - not automatically," Domeki shook his head, his brow furrowing. "I've been speaking Japanese all along. It's the only language I can speak - though I'm guessing that you've both been speaking English?"

Sarah looked at Ryuzaki with wide eyes. "Wow..." was all she managed to say in response to his long winded speech. "I suppose that's all a possibility." she shook her head at him, brushing it off.

She looked over at Domeki with a confused look on her face. "Japanese? I know nothing in Japanese." she looked back at the journals on the ground before her, "This is rather interesting. Nothing besides internet translations can work this fast...whoever took us has been rather thorough."

Glancing around nervously in the woods Sarah quickly returned Domeki's journal and stood, "Perhaps we should be on our way...see what's nearby." she suggested not wanting to stay in the same spot where whoever brought them here would be willing to mess with them. She took a deep breath and in response her body lurched to it. The scent of the other boy's blood was strong and she forced herself to stop breathing. She didn't want to run any risks with them so close to her.
