Following Shannon's advice sounded like the thing to do, but announcing in one of the journals that Rorschach had scared the hell out of her the day before, yeah that did not seem smart. So she decided that in person would work much better. Well, somewhat better. Not much better, just a tiny bit though.

Okay, so she was scared. Not about telling Logan, she never even thought that he would hurt her. But she was standing outside the Gym where she had slept alone for the last two nights, bundled up in the overalls she had arrived in, only done up for once. With the flannel shirt she had borrowed before from Logan himself, nearly swamping her, rolled up to her wrists.

Her arms wrapped around herself, Kaylee kept her eyes open and looking around herself. The last thing she wanted was to be taken by surprise again.

Removing Ror's intestines through his throat would have sounded like a really, really good idea to Logan, if he'd known what Kaylee was thinking.

"Uh huh." He didn't sound like he believed her too terribly much. "If it happens again, scream. I got good hearing ... and you'll have the pleasure of watching the asshole get his ass beaten bloody."

See, once you got to intestines out people's throats, and ears being cut off, and duels for womens' honors, it just got messy. Then you ended up with dead bodies in boxes who were not really dead at all, and people kicked into running engines...

An unexpectedly dark laundry list from Kaylee's mind, better avoided. Rorschach simply was better avoided, just as much. He only served to remind her that not everything was of lightness and fluffy creatures, of sex and strawberries. No, Rorschach would remind no one of either sex or strawberries.

...He probably hated strawberries.

"You don't have to beat him up," the mechanic tried to tell him, despite her rampant dislike for Rorschach. "I jus' don't want him anywhere near me." Still, she nodded to agree that she would scream for help. Kaylee dredged up a smile from somewhere, who knows where, there really wasn't a power in the 'verse to stop her from being cheerful for long. Just as the Cap'n was always saying. "Thanks Logan. I hafta go and look for River some more, she hasn't said anythin' at all back from my message. And I haven't seen her in days."

Logan snorted. He somewhat (ok, more than somewhat) disagreed on the idea that he didn't have to beat Rorschach up. But he was going to refrain, for now. Next time ... well, that'd be an entirely different kettle of fish.

"All right. Seeya around." Logan said. "And be careful, all right?"

With a smile and a cheerfully drawn up, "Sure thing." Kaylee nodded. Before she turned and set off in the snow towards the thrift store, needing to find her friend and know just where she had been for days on end. Lately she had done her best to not worry overly much about the younger girl, because she knew that sometimes River just wanted to be alone, and Kaylee surely did not want to smother her or nothing.

But this was too long, and while the mechanic had never actually been around River when the girl had not had Simon in attendance to make it all better, she had to do something.
