Who:  Remus Lupin & Rose Tyler & Tonks
What:  Remus has gone looking for Rose.
Where: The Gym
When: Day 24, 3:26PM
Rating: PG
Status: Active

Rose had told him a few days ago that she'd be in the gym. So that was where he was headed. The lack of sun made him a little nervous, he had to admit.. but the fact that there was no moon at all? No moon in the evening sky that had lasted for four days now? That was unnerving. Something was very wrong, and he hoped that it had nothing at all to do with him.

The bugs, for the most part, weren't much of a bother.. he had to swat a few away, but they hadn't tried attacking him. It was a good thing, he'd had enough of being attacked. First birds, then zombies? He wasn't sure he could handle bugs. They were just here to get rid of the corpses, he was sure, since he'd seen a swarm of them eating a body on the side of the road. Thinking about it made him a little sick to his stomach, so he was quickly changing topics in his mind. Rose. He wanted to find Rose.. wanted to make sure that she was alright, see if there was anything he could do for her.. and ask if she minded if he stayed with her at the gym. He'd stayed the last few nights with the Doctor, but the man came and went at odd hours and it always woke him up. And sometimes, he'd feel eyes on him, and he knew that man was staring at him. He knew it was because he was a werewolf. With Rose there, he'd focused most of his attention on her.. but without her? Well.. he was just ready to have her back.

So he was carefully stepping into the gym and looking around that wide open space. He hadn't been in here since his second day in this place, where that nice doctor had bandaged him up. Most of those bandages were gone now, his wounds were healing over nicely, and only the gauze on the back of his hand remained. "Rose?" He called out into the dark of the gym. He could see people, he could hear movement, but it was hard to tell who was who, without any light. Even for him.

Absently, Tonks wondered how much of any of this would return with them. If she could instill in Remus what she'd been trying to tell him all year..then maybe it wouldn't be so hard later. Her grin mirrored Rose's and, because seeing her friends put her in better spirits, she reached out and grabbed both of their hands to drag them somewhere through the gym. Not anywhere in particular, considering that there was no where to go, but just because she wanted to move around.

"In the meantime.." She started, fingers wrapping around both hands and squeezing. "I declare that we go about playing something. Twenty Questions? To Tell the Truth?"

"Twenty questions?" He was ready to be on another subject, one not him. "Haven't ever played that." He admitted, and after a second.. "Or the other one." And he wasn't sure he was so keen on playing a game with two girls. What if it turned out to be like that one he played in fifth year, where he had to kiss someone? He'd swore he'd never play one of James' stupid games again.

But this wasn't James' game, this was Tonks' game. And a questioning glance was sent Rose's way. He'd use her judgment on this one. If she thought it was safe enough to play, he'd be willing to do it. Heck, if it'd get the subject off of him for the rest of the day, he'd be eager to do it.

Rose smirked as she settled on the floor, looking up at the both of them. The witch and the wizard were two of her closest friends in this place. She'd tell them most anything. "Not like I have many secrets left around here," she commented with a casual shrug. "Except ones from my future being kept from even me! Bring it on, Ms. Tonks. Never played To Tell the Truth." Twenty Questions was kind of boring, but the other one sounded at least mildly amusing.

She grinned up at Remus' baby-face and worried expression and teased, "so long as we're not playing that Seven Minutes in Heaven game. What with only three of us, that could get old fast. And I'm pretty sure our little Remus might die of embarrassment!" Ah, she'd once loved that game. Stupid Brock Henderson.

She laughed, tugging Remus to join them and sit even as she was plopping onto the floor without even a modicum of grace. An impish smile appeared at the mention of Seven Minutes in Heaven and she glanced slyly to Remus. "There is a cupboard that I saw.." Teasing as well. But she grinned at the poor boy and gave a wink. No harm meant.

"Well, Miss Tyler, it works like this.." Older Remus got suckered into playing the game a time or two. And got doubly suckered when Tonks and Sirius, on one of those evenings she hung out with her cousin and his friend, started making up truths for Remus. Of course, there were the occasional zinger that came from the older man's way as well.

"You've got three statements. Two are porkies and one's the truth. The others figure out which is which." It'd be interesting with a Muggle who'd led an extraordinary life and a friend who hadn't been her friend at this age. "Or you can play it the other way were two are truth and one's a lie."

Remus slowly sat down as he was tugged, and folded his hands in his lap with a little breath. Okay, he could do this. No proble-- Oh Merlin were they talking about seven minutes in heaven? His features got darker, especially with the company that he was keeping at the moment. Thank goodness for the darkness around them.

"That sounds like a fun game." Sort of. "I like the one truth version." That way, not too many secrets were just spilled out everywhere. It sounded like a much better version. Hazel eyes were moving slowly over to Tonks first then back to Rose. Well, girls, he certainly wasn't going to start off this game, but he'd participate if you all wanted him to. He liked to please people, like the good puppy he was (okay, only good when it wasn't near the full moon).

"If you were just a couple of years older, it could be a drinking game," Rose teased, though as far as she knew there wasn't any alcohol around. "We'd have you with I Never, I'm sure." She flicked her tongue over her lower lip playfully, then leaned back on her hands, peering at the pair of them in the dimness of the gymnasium.

This game had serious potential. One of them was a wizarding werewolf, the other was a wizarding copper. She, though rather boring on her own, had at least seen some unbelievable things. There were going to be fanciful tales all over the place in this game, she was sure of that. "So how does it work? Like, I throw out two lies and a truth and you two decide on one? Or does one person guess and the next goes? So if I were to say... I snogged a boy for the first time when I was twelve, my mum's hair is dyed to match mine, and I hate the smell of leather... Who gets first call?" Okay, that was an easy one and completely basic. But she couldn't exactly start off with, 'I was attacked by an alien in the middle of Downing Street' now could she?

Tonks laughed at the idea of this game being a drinking one. "That would be interesting.." She eyed Remus with a playful grin and then turned back to Rose and nodded. "That's the way. An' we can both pipe in with whichever we think is the truth..which I think is the smell of leather..and you can tell us which one's right."

She stretched out short legs, crossing them at the ankles. "Another fun twist is the explanations why you think they're lies. Like I think you're rather a heartbreaker an' was kissing boys when you were still in the sandbox." Remus was not the only one who would get the good-natured ribbing. She looked over to her wizarding friend, eyebrows lifting. "Whatcha think, Remus?"

With the mention of alcohol, he was clearing his throat a little and shaking his head. He wouldn't be drinking around two pretty girls.. even if he'd had drinks before. Butterbeer, after all, would certainly give you a little rise. But he wouldn't drink it now if someone paid him to.

"I think," he began slowly, "That.. you didn't snog a boy until you were older than twelve, so that's a lie. And I don't know why anyone would hate the smell of leather, it's really a fantastic smell.. so I'd go with your mother dying her hair to match yours as being the truth." He sat back some as he said it. "My mother charms her hair to match my father's." A tidbit of information that he likely should have saved for this game.

If Remus were more adorable, Rose might burst. "I'm afraid Tonks is a bit closer on the kissing age, love," Rose said with a grin. "But twelve is definitely a lie." And the younger man should've known without a doubt that she didn't hate the smell of leather. She loved it. Adored it. If she hadn't before she'd started riding around in a big blue box, she would now. It was the smell of safety and comfort. It was the smell of being protected. "And I'm rather head over heels for the smell of leather, actually. So yeah, it's definitely the hair thing. Mum's is much lighter than mine. Which...isn't completely my own anyway," she added with a tiny laugh. She was still waiting for her roots to grow out to the point where someone said something. Ugh. Oh, well. A few highlights wouldn't be too terribly noticeable.

"So it looks like Remus gets this round," she joked, reaching out and nudging him her toe. "You lot can...charm your hair? Like, a magic spell to make your hair different?" Their world would never cease to amaze her.

Tonks chortled in amusement and placed her weight outstretched behind her. "Head over heels for leather." Mused with a thoughtful smile, nodding. Nosy witch absolutely adored this game. How else did you make getting to know someone so fun? And it was the go-rounds that hopefully made people feel more at ease and less like they were being interrogated.

"Remus gets the round..and gets to go next." Said with an impish grin, but fell into comfortable quiet to let Remus explain about the charms for features. Tonks, being one big features charm rolled into a person, never paid much attention to those types of spells.

Remus nodded his understanding as Rose explained, and a small smile crept out over his face. He often won at games like this.. anything he had to use his brain with, because when he was with his mates? Well, he was certainly the brains of the group. But he loved them all the same. "Yes, we can.. it changes the color, the length, the texture.. whatever spell you use. I'd show you, but.." No wands. He shrugged up his shoulders some, glancing briefly to Tonks, before looking back at Rose. Okay, his turn? Two lies and a truth, right?

"Green is my favorite color." He began slowly. "I once went as a Princess for Halloween, and I have a cat." Now, Tonks might have an advantage in this situation.. since she'd known Remus so well in his older age. But favorite colors changed often and he certainly hadn't ever told her about being a Princess for Halloween.. but she'd be very aware that animals ran from him upon the first smell. He couldn't get within thirty feet of anything not human.

It was more than his brain that was winning the game. Remus was an intuitive young man. Rose had always known that. Except that bit where he'd thought the Doctor was her father. Couple, yes, parent and child? Not quite! Otherwise? Remus was slightly brilliant with the reading people thing. He always seemed to know the people around him, even without talking to them.

While she considered the choices, Rose shifted to lay on her stomach, her head propped in her hands like a kid at a sleepover. May as well, this felt like one of those games they would've played at a sleepover. "I... This is a trick question, isn't it?" she asked thoughtfully. "I mean... I can't picture you wandering around in a princess costume. That's just goofy. But it seems to obvious." There were downfalls about being as smart as Remus was. People got on to you if you made it too simple. "And I think you look better in blue, so... I'm going with the first one. Green."

Knowing Remus when he was older was both a boon and a burden in this game. Boon because she had particular knowledge about things, but burden because people could (and did) change when they got older. And Tonks only knew the older one. There was a moment of respite in playing this game with friends, like nites where she and Sirius and Remus would stay up late and do ridiculous things. Just to fend off the overhanging sense of impending worry. The content made hair, which hadn't seen colour in a while, shift into a subtle red. Well, Weasley Red wasn't subtle per se. But moreso than the pinks and greens and blues that her hair tended to go. Natural? Something.

She was also debating the merits of Remus' answers. The having a cat one was automatically tossed out. Animals weren't too keen on him, poor dear. His favourite colour was blue when he was older..but could logically be green when he was younger..but having the boys dress up as princesses (or Polyjuice into girls entirely) seemed very Marauder dare like. So she was staring at the younger wizard in contemplation, and then grinned. Tonks was going with obvious. Remus would be very purloined letter about it, after all. Hide what you want to hide in front of everyone's faces. "You lot dressed up as princesses? Whose idea was that?"

He waited until Rose answered before looking at Tonks.. but then she called him on it, and he flushed deeply and looked down at his hands, then shook his head and looked up again, smiling. "James, it was his idea." Then he turned his head to explain to Rose. "James is a mate of mine, we attend school together, he and his best mate, Sirius, are always getting us into trouble.. well, mostly getting the two of them into trouble. Sometimes he drags Peter, our other mate, and me along with him. But Peter and I are so well behaved that even when we get caught, sometimes we're let off the hook because the Professors don't really believe that we could have been in on the silly prank." With that explained, he was smiling more brightly, remembering his friends.

"It was Halloween, last year. James thought it'd be brilliant if two out of four of us went as Princesses to the ball, so that we'd all have dates." Since they certainly hadn't had dates, James had been pining for Lily and Sirius had turned down girls left and right. Why? Because of the plan. "James and I ended up in dresses and I went with Peter, while James went with Sirius. I don't even know how I got talked into it, something about being a coward." The werewolf laughed and rubbed a hand through sandy hair. "I'm easy to goad if you know what buttons to push."

For a long moment, Rose simply stared at the teenager. He'd actually done it? Really? But her stare quickly faded because she had to close her eyes while she giggled. "Seriously?" she sputtered, grinning widely. "Seriously? You wore a pretty princess dress? Did you use those beauty charms to make yourself look lovely?"

She grinned up at him, reaching over to poke his knee. "No, no, what I want to know is, if you could wear high heels. Even I hate wearing them and I'm a girl. The uh, biological sort," she added with a snicker. Glancing up at Tonks, she smiled brightly. Personally, she couldn't wait to hear the witch's truth. And the two lies the girl was bound to create.

She knew it! Giggling as well, half in imagining Remus in a dress and half because Rose's giggle were infectious, she flashed Remus a grin and waggled her eyebrows playfully. Then pointedly looked over to Rose, "Don't let his innocent face fool ya. The Marauders are full of stories like that! Somma which are his brainchilldren for sure." Calling her friend out twice, Tonks was.

Squirming where she was, since it was her turn, the redhead thought about it. "Mm.." Then, once she decided on her statements, Tonks lifted her eyebrows. "One of my favourite colours is brown.." She began thoughtfully, "I was Head Girl, and nearly got kicked out of Auror training for impersonating my instructor and fooling people with it." Really, any of them could have been true (save for the brown thing).

Remus flushed deeper when Rose got on him about the princess problem, but he continued to smile. "No, we forewent the make-up, but we did grow our hair out and twist it up," he made a gesture upwards with his hand as if to indicate. "And no high-heels, thank goodness, I think I would have broken my ankle. I'm afraid I'm not the graceful sort. Not really." But he was nothing like clumsy Tonks.

And as the statements came, he paused and thought on them for a second before pointing to her hair. "Brown isn't your favorite color," Since brown was never in her hair. "And I don't think that if you wanted to be an Auror badly enough that you went to the trouble of getting into the program and beginning your training, that you'd risk being thrown out for something silly like that.. so I'm going with the bit about you being Head Girl." Logic won out. Always.
