Irony loved the Winchester boys. It loved them in the not good, rabid fangirl sort of way. And decided to rear its head and fangirl over poor Dean Winchester. Come on. He spent his lifetime hunting the things that went bump in the night, and now here he was. A thing that went bump in the night.

Alanis Morrisette should have put that in her damn song.

If he were still alive, Dean might have rolled his eyes at the reference. Alanis. Give him the good stuff. Metallica probably had a song about this. But the awkward angle of his neck and bruising around the graying skin gave away the fact that he was feeling not so fresh.

He moved quicker than some of his undead breathren. There was still a stiltedness to his walk, but it wasn't the shambling shuffle. It was focused. He was focused. Because the zombie singularity made him even more focused than he had been in life. And there was one thing that it was focused on.

Brains. Lots of them.

So now Dead Dean was on the hunt. And he had always been a good hunter.

Setting his jaw, L shook Sam roughly by the arm. "It's not Dean," he said firmly, authoritatively, moving away from the zombie at a brisk walk and dragging Sam with him. "We're only staying here if you're prepared to set your brother's corpse on fire or watch me decapitate it with my shovel, neither of which I think you want to resort to. We can move faster, just start picking up your feet."

L wasn't being intentionally insensitive, but this was one of those times. Survival was overwhelming emotion and living longer was the priority.
