Who: Any of the former kids
What: Waking up as an adult again
Where: Clock Tower
When: Day 20, Early morning
Rating: PG

Tonks woke up, stretching out and wiggling her feet. That was funny. She usually didn't take off her boots around here to go to sleep. Too many thoughts of needing to wake up and run (to help or away) to cause her to let her guard down by being found only be-socked. Eyes remained luxuriously closed for another moment or two as she thought on her dream. It was the strangest thing, dreaming about being a kid here. And with other people as kids too? Very odd. But it was honestly a little..invigorating? Not the right word, but Tonks smiled to herself anyway. If six-year-old her could handle being here then so could twenty two-year-old her!

With that thought, she laughed a little and flipped around, staring at the ceiling of the gymnasium in a contemplative sort of way. Funny, the gym ceiling didn't look like that before..

Wait a minute. She wasn't in the gym anymore. And sat up straight, looking around to figure out where the hell she was now.

It was already shaping up to be a difficult one, but she was trying to keep her head up. Like here, really. So Tonks was smiling a little and shrugged again in first answer. Then she was thinking about Connor's question. "I wondered that too. But decided no for a few reasons."

Knees were drawn up, an arm lazily draped over it as she explained. "I mean, if I did die? This is kinda shitty sport for my soul t'end up, yanno? And there are people from my future here.." She paused then, frowning and thinking about Luna. "Were, at least." So there was that. "And I've a mate who's younger than I know him, so I'm from his future? All wonky."

Then she grinned wryly, lifting her eyebrows. "Besides, if I'm dead..I want to go with a bang."

"Good point," Connor agreed, considering it. "How long have you been here, then?" Long enough to know people. And if that wasn't sad, he didn't know what was. Not that he didn't want to know people. If he was going to be stuck in this place, he'd meet everyone if he could. It was just his way. He liked knowing people and knowing where they were from and what they did. Sometimes it was hard to get to know people when you were considered a 'geek'. Not everyone wanted to know you back. But if he hadn't gotten involved with paleontology and then the ARC, he would definitely have looked into sociology. Or maybe psychology. Something else that ended in ology.

"So what do you do, then? In your witch world? Do they have the same sorts of jobs as us non witch people?" He hadn't gotten around to asking Chris that, yet. Of course, Chris was also part guardian angel. Maybe that was his full time job? Something to think about, wasn't it?

"Little over a week. Nine days or so? Too long, really." She smiled apologetically, though wasn't entirely sure why. No, that wasn't quite true. She did know why. Because she felt like she was whinging. "I mean, I don't mind getting to know you lot.." Like her six-year-old counterpart, Tonks loved meeting people. They fascinated her. So this big melting pot of people was sort of like a dream. It's just the rest of it that was the nitemarish part. "But I'd rather it in different situation."

Tonks laughed though, because she kinda loved these conversations with Muggles. "I'm an Auror, which is like a cop. An' yeah! Still have shops, still have shopgirls, still have restaurants and banks..though our banks are run by goblins.." She looked over then, ready to be amused by Connor's reaction.

"Ah, still have shopgirls, then?" Connor teased, cracking his knuckles with a confident looking smile. Confident looking because most people who knew him were completely aware that there was little about him that was genuinely confident. When one was teased most of their life for obsessions with dragons and dinosaurs and knights of the round table and, well, superheroes, one didn't tend to have time to get cocky. "Well, as long as there's still shopgirls in this world of yours, I imagine I could get by alright if I needed to."

Wait. Did she just say...? "Goblins?" he gasped, then his grin brightened. A genuine, honest grin. Because Tonks had no way of knowing just how exciting those very words were to him. "Actual goblins? What do they look like? Are they green? Pointy noses, pointy ears, that whole lot? Why do they work in banks? And you lot just accept them as your...tellers? What do they do there?" Goblins! In a bank! Going about like normal people! What would they think of next?

She was nodding in agreement at shopgirls, a smile tugging at her mouth as she waited for his reaction to goblins. And Tonks was not disappointed. In fact, she was laughing and grinning in return.

"Actual goblins! Pointy earred, kinda old man-nish and wrinkly. And they work in banks because they're ace at money keeping! Why wouldn't we accept them? They do everything that a normal bankperson does! Take care of books, take us to our underground vault accounts.." Tonks shrugged then, honestly not realising that Muggle banks didn't have vaults. Sure, not underground. But no vaults? Where did they keep their money?
