Entry tags:!shelved, connor temple, day 20, location: clock tower, nymphadora tonks

Who: Any of the former kids
What: Waking up as an adult again
Where: Clock Tower
When: Day 20, Early morning
Rating: PG

Tonks woke up, stretching out and wiggling her feet. That was funny. She usually didn't take off her boots around here to go to sleep. Too many thoughts of needing to wake up and run (to help or away) to cause her to let her guard down by being found only be-socked. Eyes remained luxuriously closed for another moment or two as she thought on her dream. It was the strangest thing, dreaming about being a kid here. And with other people as kids too? Very odd. But it was honestly a little..invigorating? Not the right word, but Tonks smiled to herself anyway. If six-year-old her could handle being here then so could twenty two-year-old her!

With that thought, she laughed a little and flipped around, staring at the ceiling of the gymnasium in a contemplative sort of way. Funny, the gym ceiling didn't look like that before..

Wait a minute. She wasn't in the gym anymore. And sat up straight, looking around to figure out where the hell she was now.

Connor was not a light sleeper. The fact that these people were able to knock him out to the point where he had no idea where and when he was being transported was a testament to the amount of drugs or whatever sort of power they were using. If it weren't for Abby, some mornings he'd sleep till afternoon instead. Including when there was an emergency call.

So he barely even noticed the change of surroundings as his eyes started to flutter open. No. No he wasn't going to get up, thank you. He was quite comfortable. Sort of. As comfortable as one could be on the floor. Instead of getting up, despite the half a conscious thought running through his mind, he rolled over and flung his arm up over his eyes to keep out the light filtering through.

Nope. Still not quite comfortable enough. He rolled over, ready to snuggle into folded arms, when he realised he'd all but rolled over on someone. Now that he knew wasn't right! Oh, hell. Where'd he gone the night before? Worse, what had he done? If he'd finally gotten laid and couldn't remember it, he'd never forgive himself!

"Sorry, sorry, m'alright, you alright, I'll just be going--" And when he finally worked himself into a sitting position, he turned bright pink. Oh, he'd fallen asleep with a gorgeous girl, alright. Unfortunately, they weren't alone, and he wasn't at home in the flat. In his deep sleep, he'd almost forgotten that he'd been transported...well, here. "Where the hell are we?" he blurted before he could curb himself.

She was still trying to figure out where the hell she was! So intent was Tonks on that, that she didn't even really pay attention to the few other people that were curled up in the small area. Didn't pay attention, that was, until one of them rolled over into her lap.

"'Lo to you too, lovie." She replied in amusement, smiling genially to show that no offense was taken. Tonks put a finger to her mouth, indicating the other still-sleeping people. "Dunno. I went to sleep in the gym.." Which was weird. Why separate them like this? "And woke up here."

She looked back to the bloke that she didn't know, least not as an adult. "Tonks." Said as she held out her hand, "Were we really kids? Dora..is me, if we were."

It was a really, really good thing bright red suited Connor as a colour, because he was flushing that particular shade just then. As soon as he remembered where he was and what he'd been doing, he buried his face in his palms. It would figure his one thought on waking up would be girls. Not life and death scenarios, not their childlike adventures, no, of course not. What good would thinking rationally do him?

He peeked through his fingers and groaned a little when she introduced herself. "Connor," he offered, taking her hand for a moment before pulling back. It wasn't that he wasn't used to waking up in the presence of a woman. It was just that it was ordinarily Abby who knew everything about him, including bedhead, morning breath, and the works. "Ah...nice brontosaurus trick?" After all, what did you say to someone you'd known as a six year-old...only the day before? Meaning they had, indeed, been children only hours previously. But how?

"Where's everyone else?" he asked curiously, finally starting to get his bearings. A rude awakening, but not an altogether unpleasant one. There'd been, what, ten of them when he'd fallen asleep the day before? "Chris isn't here," he observed, anxious.

She chuckled at the blushing, eyebrows lifting as Tonks debated whether to say anything about it. "Red looks nice on ya." Yes, she was going to. They had seen each other at six after all! That sort of thing made you a St. Crispin type brother in Tonks' mind. And the question of how was on the witch's mind too. She was already trying to figure it out. Maybe they had Timeturner magic. Well, something different..but sort of on the same lines.

Drawn back to the here and now by the comment on the brontosaurus trick, she smiled sheepishly. "Thanks..I was bit of a showoff when I was younger." Especially around people who could know about magic. Well, Dora had thought they all could. Older now, she was still inclined to think as such.

"I dunno. Maybe they're still at the gymnasium? The other question is..where are we?" She hadn't been to the clocktower before, so this was a new area. "Chris..he's the other one with magic.." Mused to herself. "You blokes are fairly new." That was right. She remembered now. "Welcome to the game?"

Oi. Women and their jokes. Thought they were so brilliant, letting loose with things like that. Yeah, well, he wasn't so easily swayed. Maybe just a bit. A tiny grin did break out between those flushed red cheeks after all. "Oh, yeah? Well, polka-dot looks pretty good on you, but you don't hear me running around inflating your ego." Ooh, that was almost a good one!

"S'alright, though," he added a beat later. "I get the feeling we all did things yesterday we're going to regret later." The look on Chris' face when he'd lept out of the tree had been pretty priceless. And, well, there was that bit when he'd drawn a dinosaur for everyone. Oh, right, and played some mad Ninja Turtles.

Nope. He was never showing his face outside of...wherever this was. "Yeah. We're...pretty new, I guess. Got here the day before... Well, this." Ooh, they were known! That part was kind of cool. Gingerly, he stretched, testing various limbs and muscles. "Good to know everything still works," he admitted, as much to himself as to her.

"Cheeky." She laughed and shook her head. "Polka dots..cripes, I was sorta ridiculous as a kid." Not that she wasn't far off from that ridiculousness in adulthood. It just came out in spurts. Or something! Tonks nodded her agreement with Connor's statement about it being alright.

"I don't think I'll regret any of it. 'Cept for maybe crying in front of one of the still-adults." Poor bloke! He just caught her at a bad time was all! Nodding and standing up, she went to go look for somewhere to peek outside. "Wanna go explore a bit, then?" Asked as she looked over her shoulder. "The others can wake up when they need to."

Connor ducked his head to hide his smile. "Some of you really were a bunch of cry babies, you know. Don't get me wrong, we were six, no one's gonna fault you for it. But honestly! Where's your sense of adventure?" For six year-old Connor, adventure had been around every corner. Just ask his poor mum who'd nearly run herself ragged trying to keep up with him.

Hmm. Mum. Had he really told everyone how horrid his father could be? Lovely. At least he hadn't said anything about being from another planet or being kidnapped by demons or that his family had witches.

Pulling himself to his feet, he took the other side, trying to find a spot to look out. "Honestly haven't done a lot of exploring since I've been here," he admitted. Which was so rare for him. But one had to admit, landing here wasn't exactly normal, either. "You know, I'd probably have gotten at least another ten minutes if you hadn't been in the way." But the smirk he flashed in her direction was friendly as he looked for the way out.

"Oy, then! It was way past my bedtime! I thought it was all a dream, and freaked out when I was supposed t'wake up back in my bed!" She laughed, giving Connor a good natured smirk at his ribbing. "I loved adventure." So there. "And could certainly keep up with you." Was that a challenge? Perhaps, perhaps.

"Well, reckon that you just haven't had a chance. I still haven't explored everywhere. And I've been here round bout a week." Eyes rolled when he said that he could have gotten another ten minutes, the witch snickering at that remark. "I'm so sorry, Princess. You can go back to sleep and miss out on figuring out where we are?"

It definitely seemed like a challenge when she added the bit about exploring. She'd be a tough one to keep up with. But Connor typically didn't mind that. In fact, it sounded like a plan to him. He liked the idea of tearing this place apart until they'd discovered every inch.

"Is that a jab?" he teased right back, leaning down to pick up that pesky hat that was determined not to leave his side. Not that he minded. He'd have been sodding well mad if he'd been left without it. Right. Plopping it on his head, and hopefully covering any potential bed hair, he grinned. "So where do we start? Is there a door around here? From what I hear, it'd be just like these people to trap us in a room with no door and watch us flounder."

"It is a jab." She agreed, rocking on her heels after having put her boots back on. Tonks hadn't bothered to tie them yet. She'd trip over them one way or another anyway. She grinned amicably and then looked around. There were stairs, leading up, and a door just further yonder.

"We've lucked out then. A door has presented itself to us." Little did Tonks know that outside where blood thirsty birds from beyond the grave. Well, maybe not from beyond the grave..but blood thirsty! "But don't say that. If they've got these places tapped, I'm not keen on giving them any more ideas." The witch informed him with a chuckle, making her way to the door.
