Entry tags:!complete, chris halliwell, day 20, location: gym, rose tyler

Who: Chris Halliwell and Rose Tyler.
What: Showing off his powers, just a little.
Where: The gym.
When: Day 20 - Shortly after noon.
Rating: PG.
Status: Complete.

As soon as he found out about the birds Chris had thought about orbing to the clock tower to make sure Connor was indeed alright. He didn't know exactly where the clock tower was but he could pick up on the other man's presence and that was enough of an indicator for him. It wouldn't do good to not look after his unofficial charge, now would it? But Connor insisted he was fine for now, and Chris really didn't want anyone to know about any of his powers that didn't have to. His friend knew and Remy knew about the teleporting, unfortunately, but that was pretty much the extent of it.

Then the pretty girl that had taken care of the lot of them the day before sounded like she was a little concerned to be staying in the gym and his pesky whitelighter instincts kicked in. Surely it wouldn't be that bad if one more person found out about one of his abilities. Or at least not any worse than having it clear as day to read in his journal that he was a witch.

So Chris had slunk off to a corner of the museum where no one could see him, journal tucked in his back pocket as he orbed himself from there to the gym. It took the span of fifteen, maybe twenty seconds for him to disappear from the museum and reappear at his new destination with the show of little white lights that always accompanied orbing. Since he wasn't sure exactly where she was at he had chosen to orb to about the center of the gym floor, and once he was solid one hand brushed his hair out of his eyes as they sought Rose out. Belatedly Chris hoped there weren't too many other people around.

Rose couldn't help giggling. Really, who wouldn't? He was cute, she was lonely, and he was actually treating her like someone who mattered. Weren't many of those around, if she thought about it long enough. Which she didn't want to. Thinking led to hurt feelings. Feelings were complicated. This? Flirting, hand holding, not to mention talking to a real live part-witch, part-angel? That...was also kind of complicated, but it was also completely brilliant. She'd probably have wondered what sort of person he was, telling her all these things, getting close to her, holding her hand, all of that, if it weren't for the fact that she was sort of used to that. The Doctor had done the exact same sort of thing.

Hmm. Best not to be thinking of that when those pretty blue eyes were on her, wasn't it? So instead, she dipped her head slightly, her own blush creeping up her neck and into her cheeks. "I...don't mean to? I mean, obviously, I don't want to be some horrible person," she amended quickly. "I just... It's not intentional. When someone's hurting, it's only right to be there for them. I didn't always think that way. I was a pretty awful kid. Well, teenager. Still technically a teenager now, I guess," she added with a short laugh. "Feels a lot older, though. One of the problems with messing around with time. I may have missed my own birthday and I'm not likely to know it." As she talked, her thumb absently rubbed his knuckles, and she was completely unaware she was doing it.

Well. Perhaps not completely. But she didn't notice for several seconds, at least.

Goddess, she was adorable. Well... more than adorable. Downright attractive. Which was probably horrible to think because he should be focused on finding a way out of the place and getting back to his time. But honestly? There was a part of him that wasn't in that much of a hurry to get out of here. For all he knew he was dead; he'd been dying before he showed up here, and it was quite possible that wasn't going to change when he left. And surely there had to be some sort of reason for him being brought here. He had been raised on talk of fate and destiny and all those sorts of things so they weren't thoughts he could simply turn off.

All that aside... a selfish part of him felt he deserved at least this. One quiet little moment with someone who seemed more than willing to listen to whatever he wanted to say. Even hybrids like him that weren't supposed to exist because they could become too powerful deserved a little genuine affection.

So Chris made no move to bring attention to the gentle rubbing of her thumb across his knuckles, for fear of her stopping and drawing her hand away. He just smiled and let his eyes run over her face, listening to her speak while at the same time wondering if she would smack him if he tried to kiss her. "I find it hard to believe you were ever awful, Rose. And trust me, you are most definitely not a horrible person. I can kinda sense that sort of thing." That whole, being an angel and all. The look in his eyes was as warm as his smile as he turned his body just slightly, making it easier for him to reach over and hook a finger under her chin. He gently tilted her head up a touch so his eyes could find hers, searching for a moment before he leaned in.

It was just a little kiss, barely more than a soft brush of lips, but it was more than enough to make his heart race a bit faster. Now Chris just had to hope she wouldn't shove him away or slap him.
