Entry tags:!complete, andy gallagher, chris halliwell, day 19, gregory house, ianto jones, location: the gym, the doctor (ten)

Day 19: 11:04 AM
Who: OTA
What: The kids all herded into the gym
When: After 11:00AM
Where: The gym
Rating: PG

Good luck to the first person to step into the gym, especially if they had a child with them.

The gym currently consists of a half finished Pyramid Court on one side, a myriad of cots in the middle, and Lexie's clinic on the far end. It would be advised that someone move all the medical stuff out of the eye level of any children, we wouldn't want any accidents now would we?

So, enjoy the quiet while you can, friend. Apparently, there's a whole herd of children on their way here with a bunch of people who clearly aren't too experienced in handling them.

Mind you language, folks.

In an effort to figure out where he was or find his way home, Chris had separated from his apparent new friend and wandered a bit, only to end up back where he had started the day, at the gym. He hadn't really had a chance to investigate it much. Hadn't wanted to with the other chatty boy around. But now he was alone and could look around and wouldn't have to answer a bunch of questions if he found something magical. Well, as long as the other boy didn't follow him here.

He was already looking around as he came in the door, part of him having hoped his dad or mom or even one of his aunts would be there, ready to help him get home. His heart sank when he saw none of them. What Chris did see was an older man... with a cane? His grandfather didn't even have a cane yet. Weird. "Who are you?" Maybe this man knew his parents, somehow. Chris always heard his mom and aunts talking about how things were connected.

Then his eyes drifted and he caught sight of some bottles and things on a table, and a light bulb went off. Maybe a potion would get him home! He wasn't allowed to make potions yet but he watched his mom and sisters make a few. Surely it couldn't be that hard.

Another kid was scooted through the door. Bound up in a brown suit and tie he looked around uncomfortably. He didn't know why Remy had stayed outside behind him, and he looked behind him as the door closed. Maybe Remy would come in soon? Little Gallifreyan swallowed hard and took a few more tentative steps.

"Hello?" He said quietly, looking around. It seemed it was just that old guy and the other kid right now and that wasn't so scary, right? Pulling up a spot near the door he leaned back against the wall, pulling his knees up against him. Oh, how he wanted to go home right this instant! The one girl had gone and called him an alien. Was that what he was? That wasn't right. Nobody ever called Beta Gamma an alien, no he was always the Time Lord and everybody knew who he was! Nobody here knew what a Time Lord was. How was that possible.

More importantly, what exactly made the plants here green?

Even though Elliot seemed pretty cool - for a girl - after she'd stopped screaming and he'd realized she was his babysitter and wouldn't hurt him, Andy was glad to have been brought to the gym. Gyms meant dodgeball and jump ropes. Gyms meant running around and playing. Most importantly, gyms meant more little kids; he hoped he'd meet some of the ones he'd read in the journals. Especially Dora, because she said she could make her hair and skin change color and that was too cool.

He came in behind another little boy and there had already been a little boy inside. Andy grinned from ear to ear and opened his mouth to introduce himself when the half-finished Pyramid court caught his eye. "Wow, cool!" he shrieked excitedly, hurrying over toward it. His eyes flickered toward the grown up across the room and he hoped that the man wouldn't yell at him for not using his indoor voice.

"What is this?" he asked, his voice both curious and awestruck as he looked back at the other two boys and ran an absent hand over the splintery wood carefully. Then he looked back at the grown up. "Do you know what it is, Mister?" he tried.

Oh for the love of christ.

He, apparently, didn't move fast enough to get away from the gym. Now, it seemed, he had the children in his not-so capable hands and where the hell were the rest of the adults? House glanced around, hoping to god that Lexie was nearby. She could do that... woman's work of taking care of children, leaving him to go curl up with a bottle of something.

Scotch or vicodin. Right now, he wasn't going to be picky.

"Indoor voice!" He shouted at whatever kid had decided that screeching was a good idea. Using his cane to point, he waved the kids over to the other side of the gym. "You kids stay over there. Big important stuff behind me that will break if you touch it. So go run and scrape your knees over there and I don't want to hear any crying or bellyaching."

Chris cringed at the shrieking, turning around to look behind him at the other kids who had seemingly appeared after him. The one boy looked about as happy to be here -- wherever here was -- as Chris was, and the other just actually seemed happy. While he was plenty capable of being nice to other kids his age, he wanted to get home and he couldn't go play and do normal kid stuff when he knew that this place wasn't home, that something was off about it.

He looked back at the adult when he started yelling at them, well not him clearly, he wasn't doing anything, and Chris crinkled his nose. The man sounded like a grouch. Well, he could be a grouch, that wasn't going to stop Chris from seeing what was over there. Though he didn't want to risk getting smacked by that cane, which seemed a very real possibility if he tried to investigate over there the normal way. Chris focused his gaze and attention on an open spot behind the table, squinting his eyes up as he did so, and after a few moments of concentration the place where he was currently standing seemed to shimmer with little white lights. He disappeared only to reappear at the spot he'd been focused on barely a second later with the same show of little white lights. If only his mom and dad were there, then they'd see that his older brother wasn't the only one who could do magic as a kid.

The grin on his face was a mile wide and he quickly climbed up on a chair so he could see what all was on the table. He didn't know exactly what all his mom and aunts used in their potions but maybe he would see something familiar.
