Day 19, Morning
Who: Elliot Reid and Andy Gallagher
What: Wakey, Wakey
Where: The Van near the Church
When: Day 19, Morning
Rating: PG
Status: Complete

Elliot wasn't sure what woke her, but it was with a sigh of relief that she opened her eyes and spotted Andy's velvet tiger print on the inside of the van. At least she hadn't been pulled for the day's torture. Not that it was a huge relief, considering that she knew there would be others who were less lucky. She rolled over and looked at Andy's form buried under the blankets. She could see a small bit of hhair poking up from the top of his blankets. At least he hadn't been pulled either.

She stretched in the small space of the van and looked around for her journal. There was no use putting off looking in it to see what horrors had already happened or awaited them outside the safety of the van. She spotted it piled on top of some books behind the driver's side. She crawled over, trying to reach for it over Andy's sleeping form without waking him. All she managed to do was get two fingers on it before sending the books toppling. Andy's form stirred under the blankets and Elliot scrunched up her nose.

"Sorry, sorry," she said, reaching over him to pick up one or two of the other books. "I was just trying to get to my…" Elliot's throat stopped working as warm brown eyes looked up at her. She screamed and threw herself back against the other side of the van. Tiny hands emerged from underneath the blanket and she had to force herself not to hyperventilate. Tiny hands creeped her out. Tiny hands really creeped her out. What was more disturbing at the moment though, was that the kid in front of her was wearing an exact miniature version of Andy's clothes. What the frick?

"Who are you?" She asked, her voice so high and squeaky that it sounded almost hoarse. She refused to entertain for even a second that this could be the same Andy Gallagher, only much younger. Because that was absurd. Impossible. Unthinkable.

"Okay," Elliot repeated, giving a relieved smile. She really hadn't been sure how she was going to explain those things to a six year old. It was good to know he trusted her when she said he'd learn it eventually in school.

Elliot raised her eyebrows at his declaration that it wasn't nap time and then looked down at her hand. "Oh, right," she said, stopping in her attempt to comfort him. "Sorry." Why she was apologizing to a six year old she wasn't sure. For all the progress she'd made, Elliot wasn't sure she was that good at being an adult.

"Good," Elliot said, smiling again with relief as she handed him the candy. God, she was doing a terrible job here. She had no idea how to take care of kids. She picked up her journal and frantically flipped through it as he ate, trying to figure out what everyone else was doing. She looked up at Andy and gave him a forced smile. "Hey!" She said, trying to gather some enthusiasm. "Let's go see my friend Rose at the gym. There are other kids there."
