Day 19, Morning
Who: Elliot Reid and Andy Gallagher
What: Wakey, Wakey
Where: The Van near the Church
When: Day 19, Morning
Rating: PG
Status: Complete

Elliot wasn't sure what woke her, but it was with a sigh of relief that she opened her eyes and spotted Andy's velvet tiger print on the inside of the van. At least she hadn't been pulled for the day's torture. Not that it was a huge relief, considering that she knew there would be others who were less lucky. She rolled over and looked at Andy's form buried under the blankets. She could see a small bit of hhair poking up from the top of his blankets. At least he hadn't been pulled either.

She stretched in the small space of the van and looked around for her journal. There was no use putting off looking in it to see what horrors had already happened or awaited them outside the safety of the van. She spotted it piled on top of some books behind the driver's side. She crawled over, trying to reach for it over Andy's sleeping form without waking him. All she managed to do was get two fingers on it before sending the books toppling. Andy's form stirred under the blankets and Elliot scrunched up her nose.

"Sorry, sorry," she said, reaching over him to pick up one or two of the other books. "I was just trying to get to my…" Elliot's throat stopped working as warm brown eyes looked up at her. She screamed and threw herself back against the other side of the van. Tiny hands emerged from underneath the blanket and she had to force herself not to hyperventilate. Tiny hands creeped her out. Tiny hands really creeped her out. What was more disturbing at the moment though, was that the kid in front of her was wearing an exact miniature version of Andy's clothes. What the frick?

"Who are you?" She asked, her voice so high and squeaky that it sounded almost hoarse. She refused to entertain for even a second that this could be the same Andy Gallagher, only much younger. Because that was absurd. Impossible. Unthinkable.

Elliot realized a moment too late that screaming probably wasn't the best reaction to a child, but still what was he doing in a locked van with her? And why was he wearing Andy's clothes, or clothes like them? Sure he was cute, if you didn't look at the hands clutching the blanket up to his chin, but that still didn't explain what the hell he was doing there.

Elliot gasped as he screamed, noting that he'd actually managed to get higher than her on the scale. If she wasn't freaking out about waking up next to a baby she would've been slightly impressed. Then the kid started to cry and Elliot's face fell. Oh God. Don't start crying. She would've actually preferred the screaming to that.

"Andrew?" She repeated, feeling her chest tighten. She met his eyes and tried to search them for any sign of the person she knew. "Andrew Gallagher?" Elliot closed her mouth and made a whimpering sound. This couldn't be happening. "Andy," she said, trying to force a friendly smile even though she was freaking out. "How old are you?"

For a moment, Andy just looked back at the woman, blinking. How did she know his name? Maybe she was a new babysitter. Probably, he decided as he rubbed his eyes to dry his tears and then swiped his arm under his nose as he sniffled sloppily. "No, it's Andrew," he insisted when she called him Andy. He didn't like that name; it was a name for babies, not big boys.

"Andrew Justin Gallagher," he agreed giving her a proud smile and nodding, the blanket finally falling away to reveal fully the shirt his older self had been wearing the night before when he'd fallen asleep. "What's your name?" he inquired.

Andy got to his feet and looked curiously around his surroundings. "Cool!" he exclaimed, drawing the word out when his eyes met the tiger painted on the interior. "Did you do that?!" he asked excitedly, looking back at her as he reached up and scratched the back of his head as he sniffled again and this time wiped his nose with the front of his shirt.

It wasn't unlike him to change gears rather quickly and that morning was no exception to the rule. "I'm hungry. C'n I have some Count Chocula? Or...Eggos?! With Cool Whip and a strawberry!" he exclaimed. Andy was used to babysitters coming and going; since he'd decided that the blonde woman must be his new one, he had no problem taking a few steps toward her and taking her hand, tugging on her arm. "I'm hungry!"

"Right, sorry, Andrew," Elliot said, fighting to stay calm. At least he'd stopped crying. God, she felt bad about that, but how was she supposed to react? She'd fallen asleep with grown-up Andy and now there was a sniffling midget in his place. God, don't think about midgets, that was never a good train of thought.

"You're middle name is Justin?" Elliot asked, storing the information away for future reference. She gave him a small smile. "Me? I'm Elliot. Elliot Reed." Seeing as how she couldn't exactly just leave him behind in the van, Elliot relaxed back against the wall, watching him take in his surroundings.

Elliot shook her head. "No, I didn't. But you're right, it's cool." She sucked in a deep breath as he wiped his nose on his shirt. That wasn't sanitary, but it wasn't like they had anything lying around he could use.

When he exclaimed he was hungry Elliot found herself wondering where she was supposed to find food for a kid. "Sorry, there's no Count Chocula or Eggos here. I wish there were." It wasn't a lie. "Okay, okay," she said, suddenly feeling rushed by miniature Andy. "What about..."

She started looking through the small amount of food she'd brought back for their breakfast. She held up a candy bar. "You like chocolate, right?"
