Who: Andy Gallagher and OTA
What: Looking for Sam
Where: Outside the museum
When: Day 18, 12:45 PM
Rating: PG-13 probably
Status: Active

Lexie was alive. Andy had seen her with his own eyes; touched her with his own hands. If Lexie was alive, then maybe that meant everyone else on the screens was alive, too. If so, then Shannon would be alive, Sam wouldn't be so cryptic and angry, and maybe they could talk. Sam was the one who'd said he'd wanted to talk, after all.

So, after leaving Lexie, however much he'd hated to do so, he made his way to the museum, where he knew Sam had been staying. Whether or not his friend was still there was beyond him, but it was worth a shot. After the surveys that morning, Andy felt a little too uncomfortable with the idea of writing in the damn thing to have gone with his original plan, which was to alert Sam and Elliot of the good news in the journal. He'd do it face to face, now; that was better and more personable anyway. If Elliot didn't find out on her own hearing it through the grapevine by the time he got back to her and the van, he'd tell her, too. But for now, he wanted to know what it was that Sam had wanted to talk about yesterday and to let his friend know that their mutual friend was still alive and well. Shit, maybe he'd even get to meet that Shannon chick in person at this rate.

Taking a deep breath and shrugging off his hoodie, letting it drape over one of his arms, Andy reached up with the other and knocked on the front door of the museum a few times before reluctantly letting himself inside. He ventured a few more steps in before he spoke. "Hello?" he called out. "Uh...anybody home?" After a short pause, he craned his neck reflexively to try and get a better look down the hall across the lobby from where he was standing. "Sam...?" he tried.

Not Sam, but Ianto, poking around in rooms to see if everyone was back. It also worried him that Shannon wasn't about, but she hadn't been doing well and he knew that she had a tendency to drift off on her own. Ianto was dressed and groomed, clean and in clean clothes, so that tended to make him feel a bit better.

Now if he could just make out where everyone was...

That it took him till noon to start the search wasn't his fault entirely, he decided. Coming back to Jack took a lot of talking. Convincing.

"Hallo?" he called back to the voice and poked his head round a corner. "I.. don't think we've met."

Andy heard the voice before he saw the face and knew instantly that it wasn't Sam', based on the acecnt alone. "Uh..." he prefaced and then the other man had looked around the corner. "Hey, hi...uh..." he paused again and gave an awkward smile. "Sorry, yeah, I don't think so, either. I'm Andy, friend of Sam's from back in the real world," he introduced himself as he let himself a little further into the room. "And you are?" he inquired, curious.

Then, shifting his weight from one foot to the other, Andy looked around the room and back toward the hall again. "Is he...y'know...still living here?" he asked. "He wanted to talk to me but then I hadn't heard from him and y'know how shit works around here, so I thought I'd see if he was still...around," he said, not wanting to come out and say that he was worried that Sam might suddenly have made himself a number amongst the dead; that he was afraid Sam failing to write to him so far today was a sign of something bad.

"Ianto Jones," he supplied and stepped out further into the hallway. "I don't think I've met Sam either, for all that Shannon talks about him often enough. I was looking for her, to be honest." Ianto rubbed the back of his head, worried.

"Yep, know how this place works. He's got to be around here somewhere. So has she, I think. I haven't seen anyone else I haven't met in here. Do they stay anywhere else?" Because this vanishing act was just plain awful. And no one was bothering with role call anymore.

Andy raised his eyebrows slightly. Ianto, as he introduced himself, apparently lived here - Andy had to assume so, since he was here, after all, and knew Shannon, who Andy'd never met but could tell ran the show in the museum - but he'd never met Sam? That...didn't make much sense. Then again, it did look to be a pretty big building. Unlikely, he supposed, but not impossible that this guy lived here and didn't know Sam. "Shit, she didn't show up with the others?" he asked, frowning. Sam would be in a rotten mood then; great. "I don't know her or anything - I never met her - but if you find her, you should definitely let him know. Sam, that is," Andy replied.

Ianto seemed confident that both Sam and Shannon were about and Andy smirked slightly, raising his eyebrows. "Well, I offered them the church," he replied. "Y'know, because I'm not staying in there anymore since Elliot and I moved out and now it's empty...maybe they finally took me up on the offer so they could have a little somethin' somethin', bro, y'know what I mean?" That would explain why Sam wasn't writing, anyway, and it was a hell of a better explanation than Sam had disappeared. That was the last thing Andy needed; another one of his friends going missing.

Well. He hadn't met Sam formally, but he did know who he was. Shannon spoke of him often enough. And he had been in the museum, so Ianto had seen him in passing. At the idea that Shannon and Sam might have ended up in a different building, Ianto perked up. "Oh, I didn't even think of that. She does seem quite taken with Sam, so until I know otherwise, that's what I'm going to assume. Maybe he can help her feel better."

Shannon going missing would devistate Ianto. She was one of the few people here that he was really attached to. He generally liked everyone, just ... Shannon was sweet. She needed protecting, he felt.

The way Ianto perked up gave Andy a little reason to smile. Maybe Ianto knew Shannon better than Andy knew Sam. If the idea that they'd have actually taken Andy up on the offer to live in the church now that it was officially abandoned was good enough for Ianto, who actually lived with them, then it was good enough for Andy.

"Yeah?" he asked with a raise of his eyebrow. "Sam's pretty into her too. Like really into her. So, huh. Yeah, they probably just went off to have some alone time or something," he said confidently. Then, he gave Ianto a small, mischievous smile and winked.

"All right, man," he finally said, shrugging. "I'll get going then, I guess. If you see him around will you send him back toward the church? My van's over there and I don't leave it often unless I gotta, y'know?"

"Oh, is he? That's really good to hear. She .. wasn't doing well and I think needs someone into her to cheer her up." Shannon had some rough goings and could use someone to worship her the way she needed and deserved to be worshiped. Ianto smiled, just a little to himself, and shrugged.

"If you like," he said. "You, um. Have a van?" Since when did Vas get vehicles?

Nodding, Andy smiled. "Yeah, he is. I hear about her a lot. I don't know much about her or anything other than what little of depth he's shared, but I get the feeling he'd probably be one of the best people to cheer her up," Andy replied with a shrug. It sounded about right to him, anyway.

"Oh, I dunno, I just didn't wanna be all up in your grill or whatever; you don't know me, I dunno you and I didn't wanna assume you'd still want me hangin' around since Sam isn't here and all," he replied, shrugging once again. "Van, yeah... It's my van from home. I just...found it one day. I'm still kinda stoked and surprised by it, honestly. It's pretty sweet. What'd you end up with that day? Y'know when they left us shit?"

It was taking Ianto a moment to translate Andy-speak into proper English, but when he did, he found that Andy was a pleasant bloke. Rather like the Andy he knew. Only less ineffective (sorry, PC Andy).

"Oh, I don't mind. The one good thing about this place is the people here. I rather like everyone I've met so far. Um. I got my lover's head in a jar. Only, he was there with me at the time, so it was more weird than anything." Lover. Ianto flushed at that word, though he tried to act like it didn't effect him any. "I'd rather get a van. You staying in it, then?"

Pulling a face and then nodding, Andy looked around the room awkwardly. Lover's head in a jar. Wow, Andy was pretty sure there was nothing to say in response to that. So, he went with, "oh...shit, dude," for lack of anything better or more intelligent to say.

When Ianto asked whether he was staying in the van, Andy nodded again and looked back at the other man. "Yeah, well, I mean I live in it back home anyway, so I figure why not here? It's got music and locks on the doors, so...works for me, man, ya know?" he asked with a smirk.

Ianto shrugged about Jack's head in a jar. Once he got over the fact that it looked like Jack's head, he and Lexie actually had an interesting time poking and prodding at it. Gruesome, yes, but then Ianto wasn't entirely a normal person. "Well, he was there next to me, staring at the jar, so I wasn't worried. So long as your van's comfortable, then I'd say you've got the best sleeping arrangements of us all. You've got your bed back, at least. D'you need anything for it? Blankets? Pillows?"

Andy's eyebrows raised in response to Ianto's statement. They'd given him his lover's head in a jar...but the lover had been right next to him looking at the jar with him. "Sick fucks," he muttered, shaking his head with disbelief. "Well, at least you knew it wasn't really his, ya know?" he offered with a sheepish smile.

He went back to looking around the room and started to walk a little further inside, checking it out. Not too shabby, really. Andy made a mental note to compliment Sam on his taste once again; this time, in shelter. "Yeah, it's pretty awesome. I'm all set with blankets and pillows though, man, but thanks," he replied and then looked back at Ianto. "I've got some books if you want something to read - most of the ones in the library are all molded through. I've got heavy reading, but...y'know, it's something to do. Just say the word," he offered with a small smile.

"Actually, I haven't checked the library's books for readability. Nothing's salvageable?" That was sort of disappointing, now that he actually thought about it. He wondered if the whole place had been explored, too. Every book looked at. If nothing else, they could burn moldy books for warmth and light. It'd smell a bit, but then they all sort of smelled a bit by this point.

"What've you got? It's hard to keep occupied most of the day. Reading might help some people get past depression at being stuck here." Like poor Shannon, who needed an escape if anyone did. Poor love. He wanted to box her up and keep her someplace safe.

"To be honest," Andy admitted, "I haven't actually been in the library to check for myself, but I know there's a hole in the roof where that tree is sticking out and with all the rain we've had coupled with how decrepit everything already looks, I can only assume. Never mind the smell coming out of there..." he replied.

When Ianto asked what he had, Andy shrugged. "A few philosophical books...some Vonnegut I haven't ever managed to finish," he responded. "And a couple of Playboys hidden back there somewhere, if Elliot hasn't found 'em and trashed 'em by now, but I don't figure those articles would kill very much time," he added with a smirk.
