I have to admit that I'm intrigued by how well such an out of control situation is being handled here. Dad forgive me when I say the Ministry could never. They're lucky if they can tell their backside from a hole in the ground half the time.

Name's Al. So. What do you lot do for fun around here?

Dom? Ohmygod. How many times have I told all of you? Not in public! Not that Mum listens any better than the rest of you, but... Merlin, did you have to embarrass me on word one?

Sorry! Sorry! Just so excited to see another member of the family. Blame baby brain as well.

Rose and Molly are here too.

[Al]

You should know straight away, your dad is here but he's a younger version. He's only a few years out of Hogwarts.

Sirius Black is here too, and a version of Draco Malfoy.

It's fine. Honestly. If it wasn't you, Rosie or Mols probably would have piped up with it eventually.

And baby brain? Already? I mean, I knew one of us was going to get Gran's fever, but I didn't figure it would be you.

[ Dom ]
Huh. Well, that's a thing. So no clue even about James yet?

I mean, Draco's not so bad. But hell if I know how to react to a dead guy.

Probably.

Already? I am nine years out of Hogwarts. Some of my classmates will have sprogs taking the train for the first time in the near future.

...but it wasn't exactly planned. Anyway, you'll have two little cousins to meet any day. the sooner the better

Al

Yup. He's kind of skittish, so dunno how he'll react to having a grown son running around.

Sirius isn't so bad. It isn't like we knew him or anything.

This Draco is around our age range and a healer. Seems nice enough.

Wait. Shit. You're talking about the twins. I must be a couple months off from you.

[ Dom ]
The skittish kind of makes sense, if he's only a few years out from the war. Things have still got to be pretty damn nervewrecking.

And I guess I'll figure it out. It's just a bit odd, you know.

And we got along pretty decently back home. I mean, as much as any adult gets along with their best friend's parents without it being weird.

Yes, I'm talking about the twins. If I get pregnant again before these two are at least walking and talking feel free to cast an unforgivable on me. I want to get back to being able to playing Quidditch again one of these days.

[Al]

I suppose you're right. I scared him off a little when we first met I think, but he was the first bit of family to show up here.

It is a little. I mean we grew up hearing stories about him but they didn't feel real to me. He's a good bloke, has baby twins with a lady here named Bonnie Bennett.

I understand. And I always liked Scorpius too.

I'm not about to go that drastic. But I'll be honest, the more the rest of you start making families, the less likely Gran is going to start bugging me. So. Call me selfish. But I'm selfish.

[ Dom ]
Hopefully I won't be too much of a shock. God knows after James, they were ready for just about anything, but I don't know if not having that buffer is going to hurt.

Wow. That's not a name I recognize so. People can have families here? Without it being an issue?

He's impossible not to like. Honestly. And maybe I'm biased in saying that, but still.

Well your mum will probably be after James first than you, so you'll have a little cover.

Of course, if I'm stuck here and Mac doesn't show who knows if I'll ever put myself in a position to add to the brood.

Al
We'll see, but you've got Rose, Molly, and me no matter how it goes.

Yeah. Apparently they've both been to a couple different places like this, they've been away from their home realities for a long time I think. Their twins look like normal beautiful little kids so I guess so?

Maybe a little, but he's still a good bloke.

I sincerely wish her luck with that.

And who knows? I wouldn't count on it never happening.

dom.
I'll keep my fingers crossed. I'm just worried that not really having the opportunity to get used to be might be overwhelming.

Well, that's good. Honestly. After what Dad said happened, it's good that people who had their entire lives ripped away from them by circumstances outside of their control get the option of a second chance.

Aunt Ginny usually gets what she wants.

Never say never, but I'd rather not go through this again anytime soon.

Al

Fingers crossed.

Yeah. Several people here have been to more than one alternate reality. I think someone called places like this 'Pocket Kidnap Dimensions'.

I'll just let her focus on James first and hope that she doesn't notice me. That plan generally works out.

I can't blame you for that at all.

dom.
There's more than one? Really? Merlin.

Can't say I disagree with any of that assessment.

We've never met, but I'm Sirius Black. It's still a few days away, but if you're looking for fun, you should come to Galahd's on Thursday for karaoke night.

I'm not sure that would be entirely fair to everyone else there, if I'm honest. But I could be persuaded to show up even if I don't participate.

And we might not have met, but I've heard things. Mostly positive. Even if Gran's anecdotes tend to be more rooted in frustration.

It would't be fair because you're that good or because you're terrible?

That sounds about right. I didn't exactly make Molly Weasley's life easy.

I wouldn't call myself that good, but that's mostly because the humble part of me would try and kick my ass if I tried. But the whole doing it professionally thing tends to signal that some people think you're at least decent at it.

I don't think anyone ever did, really. Except Uncle Perc, for the most part, and even he screwed up for awhile there.

Wherever you think is a good place to start. I know your mum and dad are Harry and Ginny. That you have one brother, older, and one sister, younger. But not much else than that.

Filtering just so Dad doesn't have a heart attack when he sees this.

My name is Albus Severus Potter. I'm twenty-five years old. I was a Slytherin. And having a Ministry job nearly drove me insane so I quit to busk at random coffee shops much to the absolute horror of the rest of my family. Dumb luck, natural talent, and the residual Potter fame eventually lead to a recording contract, success, and a great deal of resentment from my bandmates. Two of them nearly killed each other during our last performance, and then I ended up going solo.

Still working on figuring that out.

I mean, yeah. I've got a pretty decent life, some really good friends, a very tolerant girlfriend, and about nine hundred family members.

Not the worst thing in the world.

I've made something of a life for myself here. I have twins with a beautiful woman named Bonnie Bennett. And there's a local magic school that I'm working at teaching dueling.

I like to think I'm doing fairly well. This is my second world like this. I was in a world called Tumbleweed before this one, though that world was closer to the Muggle world than the magical world like this one is.

Definitely sounds like Old West vibes with a name like that. Though, the idea that there's more than one place like this is a bit... Nope. Not even sure of the word to put with that. Disconcerting? Probably as close as I'm going to get.

Disconcerting is certainly a good word for it. It's hard to have peace with that knowledge.

Mostly traditional Altean music. Then I was asleep for ten thousand years. Music has changed quite a lot since then.
