WHO: Ravi Chakrabarti & Liv Moore
WHERE: Vallo City: Morningside Apartments
WHEN: August 1st, 2020 (Backdated)
WHAT: Liv and Ravi drink their feelings.
WARNINGS: Drinking
STATUS: Complete
There was no doubt in Ravi’s mind that tonight he planned to drink his feelings and really put his liver through some serious punishment. Because if there was ever a time to get stupid drunk, it was the time where you found out that your boyfriend was dating someone else because some stupid magic decided to send you away and bring you back months later. He didn’t blame Eliot at all. Being very well aware of the fact that Quentin was Eliot’s one epic love, he couldn’t at all be surprised that they got together while he was gone. After all, there had been no guarantee that he would come back and Quentin was dead. Eliot couldn’t afford to waste time with an opportunity like this. But it still sucked and it didn’t stop Ravi from feeling an achy pain in his heart. They hadn’t formally confessed any declarations of love, but he and Eliot had cared for each other and finding out they couldn’t be together was awful. He was only human (most of the month) and couldn’t turn his feelings off, couldn’t stop himself from feeling that terrible pain. At least Liv was around to help assist him in avoiding his problems. Finally getting to her apartment, he knocked with his free hand, the other one cradling a couple of bottles of hard liquor. Liv was gradually adapting to her new life on this mysterious island. It was turning out to be easier than she had originally believed. The thought that she was still home and still doing her job and helping Clive really made it easier on her. She couldn’t even entertain another theory aside from that one. There were nice people too, which also helped, and she felt significantly less afraid of people here knowing that she’s a zombie. The apartment was different than the one she left behind, the one she shared with Peyton. Or use to. The thought of her best friend seeing her go full-on zombie and kill a man flashed through her mind and her heart sank yet again. She didn’t think she could ever forget the way Payton looked at her, how terrified she was of the monster Liv had become. Ravi wasn’t the only one who could use a drink. She unfurled herself from the couch and walked over to the door, opening it. She smiled, a warm, genuine smile when she saw Ravi. Despite the bottles of liquor she leaned up and wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug. “I’m seriously so glad you’re here, Ravi.” Carefully shifting the bottles so that they didn’t accidentally get dropped, Ravi returned Liz’s hug with one arm. She tucked in right under his chin and he didn’t stop himself from dropping a quick kiss to the top of her head. “You have no idea how happy I am to see you again, Liv,” he smiled, when they finally released each other. It had been months since he had last seen a Liv. The one in Tumbleweed hadn’t come through to this world like Ravi had and he was convinced he would never see her again. But here they were, hugging it out. Holding up both bottles of alcohol, he asked, “So, you want to get shitfaced? Because I’m ready to.” “I absolutely do.” She grinned and grabbed one of the bottles from Ravi, taking it to the kitchen so she could pour some out into a couple of glasses. Just because they were going to get smashed, it doesn’t mean she had to be sloppy about it. She opened the bottle and poured it into two glasses. “So how many drinks do you need to have in you before you spill about this boyfriend of yours? Or...ex-boyfriend, I guess.” She picked up one of the glasses and handed it over to Ravi. “If I need to liquor you up a bit first, you can just start with telling me about this bizarre place we’re stuck in.” She grabbed her glass, and the bottle, and headed out into the living room where she planted herself back on the couch, legs tucked up under her, looking at Ravi with eyebrows raised in anticipation. Taking his cup after she poured it and thinking it over, he nodded to himself and then downed the drink in two large gulps. “His name is Eliot,” he said, throat burning a bit from the quick way he finished his drink. “He’s a magician and he’s dating a fellow magician named Quentin who is the love of his life. So of course I don’t even compare.” He flopped down next to her on the couch, reaching for the bottle they had opened and pouring himself more to drink. “Inadequacy sucks,” he muttered, as he took it slower with this drink, sipping instead of chugging. “Having your boyfriend move on sucks. And I can’t even blame him because of who he moved on with. His boyfriend is dead in their world so their only shot of being together is here.” “A magician? Like...card tricks and sleight of hand?” Liv raised her eyebrows questioningly as she sipped at her drink. “Well, whatever floats your boat, I guess.” She shrugged. Who was she to judge who Ravi fell in love with? He seemed to have a surprising and varied taste in partners anyway. “I know all about watching a boyfriend move on. I wish I could tell you it gets easier, but it doesn’t.” She took a big gulp of the alcohol this time. The rift between her and Major weighed heavy on her heart. What she wouldn’t give to at least be able to talk to him. “It pretty much just sucks,” she added and finished off her drink. Liv grabbed back the bottle and refilled her glass. It was already looking like it was a good thing that Ravi brought two bottles with him. “A magician as in actual Harry Potter kind of magic, Liv,” Ravi said, grinning a bit. It was never not cool how magic was real for them. “And he’s great with it. Watching him cast spells...mindblowing.” His grin faded at the reminder he wouldn’t be able to watch Eliot like he did before anymore. “At least, it was. Doubt I’m going to have many chances of watching him casually use magic these days.” Stupid magical portals that couldn’t decide to keep him around or not. If it had kept him, Ravi would still have a boyfriend. Softening at Liv’s obvious mention of Major, he reached over to pat her on the shoulder. “I’m sorry about Major. Does it help that you move on too, in the future? A couple of different times.” But they hadn’t exactly ended well. “Okay, this place might actually be cooler than I thought if there’s real magic here.” She smiled and took another swig from her glass. When Ravi’s grin faded, her own expression sobered up. She reached over to pat a hand against his leg. “I’m sure you’ll meet someone else. Maybe another magician so I can get in on that action.” Liv raised the glass to her mouth and stopped midway when she realized how that sounded. “Uhh the action of watching him do magic I mean.” She rolled her eyes at herself and took a nice, long drink. “Please tell me if I move on with anyone else, it’ll end up better than how it did with Lowell.” His death still haunted Liv. She couldn’t help but feel responsible. If only she had taken out Blaine when she had the chance. “And if they don’t end up better than that, then just lie. I don’t need to hear that truth right now.” Ravi contemplated teasing her, but his normal jovial mood just wasn’t there at the moment. He was still stuck on the situation he was in with Eliot. As in, there would be no more him and Eliot. Instead, he smiled a little bitterly and lied like she asked him to. “They end up better than Lowell did.” He didn’t like lying to her, but it was the only thing to be done. Putting his drink down, he clapped his hands and said, “How about we discuss the insanity of this place instead, shall we?” “I think that’s probably a good idea. As much as I just love wallowing.” Liv polished off her drink and set the glass aside. “Since you’ve been here before, is there anything I should know about? Other than the fact that magic is, apparently, real?” She wasn’t sure being told about how weird this place was would really prepare her for experiencing it. But she wanted to know more about what Ravi’s life was like when he’d been here before. Without focusing on the sad ex-boyfriend bit. |
