Really? How old is this beacon for the supernatural? And how old is Beacon Hills? Because like I totaly see someone being all "the hills are now alive with the sound of the beacon!" and decide it was a good name.

Problem with that theory is Beacon Hills is part of Beacon County. And I'm pretty sure it's been called Beacon Hills since the beginning of time.

The actual beacon? I don't know, I never counted the rings. But it's just a big stump now. I know it was already a huge freaking tree by the 40's. So it's pretty old.
