Hey, you too.

Everything or just the big parts? Did you know there are gravity pockets here? There weren't originally, but I was by the Crossed Quills today because they were having some issues with their magical quartet that plays music on demand without actual people playing which I do think is nice, but sometimes you need another person to infuse it with some heart, you know? Anyway, every time they played something it was just some awful music that also seems to be a problem on the radio. But we don't really use the radio here so I didn't know until I got there? So I went to play for them, but half the tables were floating and they couldn't seat anyone, and so I ended up not playing there, but I did help them get the tables down.

Oh boy. Well, that sounds like the makings of a pretty eventful day. It's also weirdly comforting that Vallo continues to be a bit odd, no matter what's going on. That's good that you were able to help them out, though. I'm sure they were real grateful?

Things have been kind of buzzing. I don't know if you saw Ash's thing yesterday--the Ashton from this time, I mean--about them thinking they found that weapon. They put a plan together and I'm going to join in on that tomorrow, early. So it's just kind of a tension where everyone's waiting until we head out and getting ready. I did some sparring with you, which has been interesting.

Mostly I've just been trying to be present when needed and out of the way when I'm not. That sounds like I'm diminishing my role here and I don't mean to, but it's just been a bit wild to observe and see the differences in people and how they've changed.

Also, I miss you. I'm pretty sure that's obvious.

It's definitely weird. Weirder than normal? Especially after you all left, but don't worry about that. We can handle it I think? Just focus on the reasons you're there.

But, I also miss you. The bed is lonely, and the mornings are not as fun, and I'm starting to think I should do pull ups in the doorway just to make it less I knew you would sign up for what Ashton was proposing, and I wanted to come with you, but I knew I couldn't. Also is it strange to see Ashton in a leadership position or You'll stay safe with other me, right? He's better at sparring in the future, I assume?

I'll do my best not to worry, but I make no promises. Luckily there's a lot of distractions here, even if you're never far from my mind.

I'll be safe with him, I'm sure of it. You're good now, so compare yourself. He is good, though. It's weird in a good sort of way, because I can tell that he trained with me before everything happened. There are just tells and the like that I recognize. He reminds me of It gives me ideas of things we could even work through if you wanted, once I'm back.

Well if you taught me, and him, which is me, then, of course, you'd notice things. What kind of things Are they bad things? But I'd like that. When you're back. It gives me something to look forward to rather than thinking about how terrible things seem.

You're right, yeah. It's just something I hadn't expected, because--well. He fights a lot like Will, which makes sense if I taught him. Just because obviously I'm me-sized, so not everything I do translates to someone who is six foot. You're about the same height and build as Will was, though, and he's who I sparred and trained with most back then, so I must have just taught you what Will would do. It makes sense, like I said, but I wasn't expecting it.

Oh I'm sorry that does make sense. Your other self might have realized it too at some point, and—are you okay with it? There's a difference between slowly learning over time that you, unintentionally, taught me your husband's fighting style and being met with all of it at once. Did you tell him you noticed? Maybe he already knows. Does it bother you that I might Would it make you think of Will too much that it hurts


You know I will. We'll be patiently waiting by the journals to hear if you come back and are successful. They need you to be. We all do.

You know, I think that I am? This might be strange, but there is something kind of nice about knowing that there's a bit of Will out there, even if it's just his fighting style. I never really compare you two in my head or expect you to be like him or for our relationship to be the same, but it's like keeping an unexpected memory of him alive. I also think that Will would get a kick out of knowing his style is keeping someone I love as much as I do you safe.

I'm being cautiously optimistic. The plan feels like a good one and there's a lot of great fighters and strategists involved, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to learn his style again. Do you think this is the same conversation they had? Are we rewriting history by knowing the future Or learn it for the first time. I'm not really sure how this works. But I also don't want to mess things up by knowing. Is that something we have to worry about?

You know, I had the same thought, but I think we're kind of beyond that by now. There's other stuff I haven't even told you yet--we're married, for example. I can't really unknow that, nor would I want to.

He sounds like a good sort. You should keep him around.

It's better than okay for me, too. I know we're still kind of new and wasn't expecting anything like that anytime soon, but it makes a lot of sense to me that we'd get there eventually.

Let's just, I don't know, not wait six years and for a middle of an apocalypse sort of situation to do it.

I got a little beat up, but nothing that a little rest and being sore tomorrow won't fix. Others got hit worse, so I was lucky. I saw I had to FCG had an incident, but I think they're calmed down now. And I got to fight with myself, so that was weird. But we're back at the Outpost now and safe, so I guess that's a mission accomplished. I'm just ready to get all of this wrapped up.

It was strange, yes. And terrible? I don't really know how else to describe it. I was fighting someone who knew all of my tells and maneuvers, but I don't even know if he really recognized that I was him. He just kept coming and I didn't want to actually hurt him, but I had to or-- Dorian helped me in the end and we were able to get away but I can't imagine that was easy for him, either.

I'm okay, though. It's just not something I ever want to experience again.
