I'm not sure if I'm doing this right. How technology has changed in thirty or so years is amazing. I can barely use this phone and I'm at a complete loss on this laptop computer.

To Henry Townshend

Hello Henry. I just wanted to check and see how you were doing.

We can see what you're saying so you are doing something right! Should the laptop become too frustrating, a method of relieving yourself of annoyance is throwing it out a window. The explosion of plastic and metal bits is delightful.

That's good. However, don't ask how long it took me to get that message posted. That seems rather an impulsive thing to do when frustrated and it would break the computer. I've only recently acquired and was told I need to learn how to use it.

I suppose though that isn't quite as entertaining. The usual way of learning seems to be practice, practice, practice.

Do you like to break things? That is true and in this case I need a lot of practice.

Sometimes. It's a wildly unappreciated form of problem solving. However if you keep using these forums you will learn very quickly as people here do like to talk with their fingers.

Problem solving? Maybe a release of built up frustration, but I don't believe breaking things would solve problems. I hope to learn how to use the phone and laptop computer because apparently you can do anything and everything on them.

It is true. Humanity has made it such that most of their lives are contained on a singular device.

It seems strange to have so much of your life on one device. Maybe I'll feel different in time. Perhaps it's no different than a filing cabinet or safe.

Or agendas. You should have seen how people would plan their lives out in those bloody books before.

That's like a planner? I'm familiar with those. I suppose they help if you have a busy schedule.

I don't know how they would help but I have no interest in actually charting my life out so that may be why.

Perhaps your life isn't as busy as others. Or busy in a different way. I would think if one had a family and tried only to remember all the different appointments and activities, events and such it wouldn't be easy. So having a planner or something else to keep track of them would be helpful.

Yes but you would also have to enter it all in just to try and remember it down the line. What if you lost the book? Then you would certainly be in trouble.

Are you too lazy to write things down? I don't know anyone who can remember everything. Especially humans. And I find your reasoning poor. If one lost it then it's lost. They can get another. That's like saying I won't buy a car because I might lose keys.

I prefer spontaneity. Very few things actually need to be scheduled.

A welcome remains to be seen. You can't fault humans for needing a planner or whatever they choose to keep track of things. Though I do not believe you were faulting them, so I take that back. You're merely different from them.
