please see this post for a rundown of addie's curse
Addie stood before the cluttered shopfront, half dubious about its overlong (and slightly pompous) name and half hopeful that with such an ambitious name, it must offer something to aid her in her predicament.
Plenty of fools throughout history had been minted for far less. Her desperation wasn't even complete; she could always turn around and go back to living life in-between the city and the forest, letting Vallo hide her from Luc.
And maybe she would've done just that, if she hadn't attended that Symposium.
The event had come and gone, and no trace of Addie's time there remained - except in her mind, where the vivid memory of what she had seen and learned took on a new life. For days after, she couldn't shake the thought that Vallo's clever residents might hold a key to her problem.
To hope for such a thing was dangerous, but not to investigate the possibility if one existed would be even worse. So convinced, she pushed open the shop door and stepped into its powerfully-scented interior.
It was, in a word, imposing. The clutter spied from without was only confirmed within. Addie smiled to herself. She was clearly in the right place, she thought as she began to make her way between shelves full of strange relics and burning candles, the wax melted in decadent drips onto the wood. Feeling a little lost and not quite knowing what she was looking for, she was also reassured that she might very well find it here.
