getting kicked out of school
geliara. tuesday afternoon.
Preferably Aidan's face."
Suspended indefinitely pending further inquiry.
Nick stared at the headmistress as she delivered his fate. "And what about everyone else? I wasn't exactly fighting myself," he protested.
"We'll investigate, Nicholas," the woman said with a soft sigh. "That process is none of your concern. Now, if you have any personal items you need to collect? Your books?"
"Don't think I'll need them, will I," Nick muttered, still not believing what he was hearing. Out in the hall there had been whispers and conversations he wasn't privy to. Then apparently as students were called in they'd told on him, each collaborating Aidan's story.
Nick had instigated a fight club and somehow coerced them all to join. Right. He wanted to punch something. Preferably Aidan's face. And then he'd duel him again and win. Again.
"If that's the case, I must ask you to take your leave. I'll be in touch."
He went to Dorian's, staring at the bottles for a long time before choosing one at random and taking a long drink. No. He didn't want to do that. He'd gone down that path before and even though he didn't feel like talking to anyone right now, he also didn't want to go back to the place where he was avoiding everything and everyone. He set the bottle down and left the club.
He considered a run. The hounds would like that, but he was almost too angry to do something that might be somewhat beneficial. Nick wasn't just angry at the school, or Aidan, or all the kids Aidan and his idiotic friends had convinced to turn on him. He was angry at himself for getting involved in the first place. He should have walked away.
But damn, it had felt good to beat him. Repeatedly.
Now he was walking, wandering the streets of Vallo without any rhyme or reason, trying to sort out the thoughts in his head. He didn't know how to tell Sabrina. And she'd told him he didn't need to prove himself to Aidan or anyone. Though she'd also supported him anyway, because that was what Sabrina did. And he didn't doubt she'd be angry too.
He checked the time. She'd still be in her class at the university. Good. That gave him time to figure something out. Though he'd need to check in with her at some point. Just not yet.
He was frustrated, and needed time and space to work through everything when all he really wanted to do was punch Aidan's smug face. In the absence of that, he just didn't know what to do. So he kept walking, until he found himself outside the Sanctum.
Maybe Roz was there and he could talk to her. For whatever reason, that seemed less daunting than facing Sabrina right away.
