Let me get this straight. People cast spells here and there's no White Council to punish them? Cool! I could get to like it here.

Hi, I'm Harry Dresden. Wizard.

I'll be straight with you. Being dragged places against my will is becoming something of a habit and this, at least, doesn't involve the Council or the Fae Courts, so I'm pretty much okay for it. Mostly.

Hey Anders, it's good to meet you. I'm always interested in meeting other research geeks, so hook me up with any contacts here, I'll happily pool info.

That an injustice occurs more than once doesn't make it right, but I think I understand; people only have so much fight in them. Picking your battles is important.

Brilliant. What would you say are your main interests, magic-wise? That will help narrow down which directions to throw you in.

That sentiment resonates more than I care to admit. When I have to fight, I fight to the death (I mean that literally, in one case), but I'd rather take time to prepare and collect myself before taking on anything here.

I have a particular affinity for elemental magics. Particularly fire and, currently, ice. Wards and protections are also a specialty, along with tinkering with ways of making magical focui work more efficiently. How about you? what's your jam?

Wise. When I first arrived here, myself and some others were trying to find the point to 'take on'. There doesn't seem to be one. If there's a sentience behind this, it's of the 'vast and unknowable' variety rather than anything we can either communicate with or force the hand of.

My jam? Healing, first and foremost, though I've a little skill with the elements as well. Most of what I do relies on a connection to something we call the Fade, so it's working a little differently here.

I haven't been called that too often, but it's appreciated all the same. Before I can get in on the entity-hunting, I'm going to need a whole host of things from home. I'm incredibly under-prepared for this particular adventure. That said, I can be handy if we have to fight dirty.

Healing is a true art - one I've little skill at myself. I don't know the Fade, but in my world the reason magic is so prevalent is that we have a close connection to the fae realm. It's going to take me some serious research and time to find out if that's true here, but the magic feels more... free... more wild. If that even makes the slightest sense.

So... Sabrina said there was a group or club for magic-types and you were the guy to talk to if I wanted in. Which I do, obviously. Something tells me the more resources we can share, the better we'll fare here.

Perfect sense, yes; it's taking a bit of getting used to, having magic be not just prevalent but integrated into the world, rather than something everyone's taught to fear.

'Club' might be overselling it slightly - mostly I just keep vague tabs on who's got which skills and what questions are being asked, and try to get people working together on finding answers - but I'll add you onto the relevant... I think they're called filters? This technology is still new and weird. In terms of immediate contacts among the displaced, Bonnie runs a shop called Uncommon Goods which sells various magical supplies and she's hosted a couple of meet-and-greets for magic-types. Sabrina's my go-to for liaising with the natives (both the covens and the Academy Of Witchcraft), and Draco, Dominique and Ignis are our alchemy-and-healing specialists. If you're after something more social, and less academic, my partner should be arranging another Wicked Grace evening at some point.
