I meant something different, but it was the late '90s when I left. No magic that I knew of except for one thing, and it was really fucking evil so I don't think that counts. I'm sorry you had to hide who you are.

It was 2014 when I left home, so I'm a little ahead of you, kid. If there was an evil thing in your world, there was magic somewhere. The chances are you just didn't know where to look and it was very well hidden.

Oh, I didn't hide. For a long time I was even in the phone book - under 'Wizard'. The White Council have been looking for an excuse to execute most of my life.
