Xanatos Technologies is pleased to announce that our first stab at smartphone technologies is almost ready for public release. I present to you: The Oracle I.
[Xanatos is standing in his office, with a palm-sized smartphone.]
"Hello Valarnet. I'm here today to demonstrate my new Oracle One. These phones, I hope, will help revolutionize communications technologies from hereon out. They do, of course, do the usual things, such as phone calls, or texting. You can, of course, use these in the usual ways, or... you can do it the Oracle way. Okay, Oracle, open a text message for me."
[Xanatos drops his hand, and the phone hovers in the air where Xanatos left it. A small projection opens up that shows a text conversation, and Xanatos hits the projected keypad to send a text, "Call me," to someone named "Owen." Seconds later, the phone rings. Another pop-up projection appears: ANSWER HOLOGRAM CALL? YES. NO. Xanatos hits "yes." Four small cameras detach from the phone, surrounding Xanatos. A full-sized man with closely cut hair appears, his projection has a slight blueish tinge, though you can still discern colours.]
"Hello, Owen, nice to see you," Xanatos says, smiling at the hologram.
"The pleasure is mine, sir," Owen answers.
"Why don't you take a seat?"
[Owen reaches forward, and once his hand closes around the top of a chair, it appears in the hologram as well. Owen sits down, and Xanatos begins to walk around his office. The phone follows, hovering at chest height, continuing to project.]
"Okay, Oracle, miniature mode," Xanatos says.
[The image of Owen shrinks until it is palm-sized, sitting atop the phone.]
"Thank you, Owen, I think we've demonstrated the Oracles capacities. I'll phone you again later."
"My pleasure."
"Okay Oracle, end call."
[The hologram flicks closed, and the four small cameras return to the camera, integrating seamlessly into the design.]
"Thank you, Valarnet, for watching my demo. The Oracle One is now currently looking for beta testers, and I thought what better place to advertise for them than on this Network of ours. Anyone who wishes to beta test the phone will receive a free Oracle One phone, and all we ask for in exchange is for you to report monthly, for the next six months, of your experiences with the phone. Anything that you like, or that you think needs improving, as well as any bugs or malfunctions you may come across. Thank you."
[The video fades to black, then shows the Oracle One logo with the tagline: Staying connected, continents apart.]
Thank you, Valarnet. If you're interested in signing up to beta, or if you have any questions about the phone and it's capacities, please leave a comment below. I am rather proud of what we've managed to accomplish with these phones, and I'm hoping that there's sufficient interest in them.
