I woke up this morning with another engagement ring on my finger and a pounding headache.

I wish it had been from enjoying memorial day too much, but it is from the dreams. I'm adding this ring to the other one and they'll sit in my bedside drawer until I can work out what to do with them.

i think the typical reaction to 'surprise engagement ring' is to sell? unless like it's emotionally poignant or something?

Even one from the dreams?

It's not- it's not poignant, but the person who gave it to me left a few months ago.

i mean it's yours. came to you. just say it was an engagement ring for a broken off engagement and you'd rather have the cash than deal with the fucking thing.

i guess if you have two... what's the harm in selling one?

Oh, I was never engaged to him. It was part of our cover. My dream life is much more exciting than my real life, a few key moments aside.

I do prefer the first one, I will admit.

Have you allowed yourself to be in the line of sight of any vegetables recently, Clint?

ah. the fun fake-married (almost) ploy. i mean i guess it's just how attached you are.

keep that one, sell the other. treat the dogs or yourself, thank you dreams?

yes. i mean. i got one thrown at me, that counts right?

I still need to work that out, if I'm honest.

I don't need a reason to treat the dogs. Nora's reliably off leash now, if you would like to join us on the beach some time with Lucky?

No. That does not count.

usually harder to figure out with the dreams.

sure. he could do with a good run around. and some buddies to play with.

i saw the vegetable coming, it was totally in my line of sight.

At least if he's running around on the beach you can make sure you're not putting too much pressure on your injury.

You know precisely what I meant, Clint.

it's mostly okay now. still not worked up to running yet, but we're getting in more walks and a light hike for some added physio. but we're doing okay all in.

i ate a banana two days ago, does that count? fruit is still healthy.

Good, I am glad. It took a long time to heal :/

That definitely counts! As long as it wasn't your only meal of the day.

i um... i might've fucked up a couple times. i've already been yelled at about that too so, please don't.

no. coffee is a meal, right?

i'm joking. i do eat, most of the time it's just stuff i can microwave rather than cook because i can't cook.

I won't yell at you, don't worry. I'm more concerned than anything else.

Luckily for you, I am getting good at cooking.

i just pushed too quickly, damaged it a little more, but keeping with the physio and just not over taxing things, i'm pretty much healed, it's just a little weaker until the strength in the tendon rebuilds.

you're just trying to make me fat.

And a nice walk on the beach will be an excellent strengthening exercise.

I am not, I'm trying to make sure some of your foods have something other than processed food in them!

sure, it will yeah. and i can top up my tan.

okay okay, that's fair. i'm not about to complain about getting fed.

Couldn't let that tan fade.

I should hope not, otherwise I'd resort to getting someone to deliver some equivalent of meals on wheels. Do you have that in America?

meals on wheels. is that like food trucks?

you'd learn about pizza and tv, maybe some farm facts. about yarn. dogs. those are the important parts.

I can help with the headache, but I cannot do a think about the engagement ring.

Even I can't tell where Illya got that from so quickly honestly.

It was impressively fast, considering we had lost the first one the night before.

Does the headache relief involve tylenol?

He's a man of many means, I'd be surprised he got the right size if I wasn't sure it was in some intel file he got or made.

Tylenol and a nice head and neck massage?

I'm very sure both you and he had extensive files on me in the dreams. He gave me the one that he had on me, but I haven't looked at it yet.

That sounds like perfect. Let yourself in.

I wouldn't say extensive on the CIA's part. They're ... blinded by the obvious sometimes. I dare say if Illya did his own recon though, well. We know his attention to detail.

Will do. Do the girls need a run around too?

I think the files from the Russians were a lot more thorough.

Probably, I've had the back door open so they can just lounge between there and here but Mindy's been lying on my legs. She knows something's wrong.

They are overachievers, need to prove something it seems.

Intuitive that one is. Okay, we'll get you sorted, I'll take the girls out for a walk and let you nap, and then I'll make dinner. Sound good?

I couldn't possibly imagine what. They technically won the space race, after all.

Sounds perfect. This is why I don't drink anyything more than a couple of glasses of wine.

Yes, and then the American's faked a moon landing.

I'm sure it's mostly the dreams talking. But we'll perk you up no problem. Some air later might help if you want to go for a walk after dinner.

It's jewellery, you keep it.

Do they fit other fingers?

Possibly my right right finger, but I am not really a jewellery person for the most part.

I'm sure they'd be fine on the occasional night out? Who needs to wear jewellery all the time to have a few nice pieces?

That's true. Everyone deserves nice things.

I recently got a number of dresses through from the dreams too, so my wardrobe is suddenly much more colourful.

Don't they.

It's like your dreams just know, you need to go out, dress up, enjoy yourself.

[info]gaby_teller

Historically speaking nice things for me have been a steady job and a decent family.

You're the second person to decide that I need to dress up, go out and have some fun.

Those are nice things, but they're content things. If you have those things you can get by. Nice things are for treating yourself with.

Clearly you have two people telling you the right thing then.
