After an 80hr bus trip and three changes I am vowing to learn to drive and never travel via greyhound again. Now I've been able to put my stuff in the closet, sleep and eat something that's not greyhound station food I'm feeling slightly more human.

What's up OC? I'm Christy.

Welcome to Orange County!!!

That sounds like a horrible length of time to be on a greyhound. Did you at least have a nice scenic drive?

Thanks :)

God, it was the worst. We barely stopped, except to stretch our legs on the mandated breaks or to switch coaches. I'm never doing it again. The drive was pretty nice but I got car sick - or coach sick? - so the latter half was just me listening to my iPod and hoping the nausea would pass.

That must've been the most cramped ever! I think you might've had more room, and been quicker, if you mailed yourself in a crate.

Travel sickness is the worst. I hope you're feeling better now. At least there's lots of space and fresh air around here?

Provided I didn't get lost by UPS, which might have been a very real risk. But yeah, provided I'm still broke by the time I'm done in OC I'll just George-of-the-Jungle myself to the next place I decide to go.

I am, thanks. Don't really wanna use a bus any time soon.

I've not gone far from my motel, to be honest, I am only feeling slightly more human, not sure I'm fit for public consumption yet.

But then wouldn't it just be an adventure? Maybe an unscheduled one, but still. That's another downside to travel, it's so expensive.

The good thing is that walking around here isn't too bad. It's nice and there's usually close by places to rest.

Maybe a few more days, a good night or two rest. Plenty of sunshine! The sun always helps!

True, do you think I'd be able to make a claim to get my own postage back if I ended up in Alaska?

I'm looking forward to trying some of the foody places here. It's totally different to where I lived before.

I need to get some sunscreen before I spend too much time outside otherwise I'll fry.

Absolutely! You'd have proof of the entire journey. Although I think Alaska is lovely and you'd end up liking it maybe?

Where was that? If you like seafood, the closer you get to the pier, the better it is.

It's very important! I forgot my first week here and wow, that was terrible!

I've never been, actually. I mean, I travelled a lot but it wasn't really a sightseeing kinda thing.

Oh, I've been all over. I lived outside OC for a while but I was last in New York. Gotta admit, I've not tried much seafood other than fish. Anything you suggest I should try?

I don't want to get sunburned :/ So, I guess I better go to CVS.

I've stopped there twice on a trip with family, so it wasn't a long visit but it's so nice.

This has got to be a huge change from New York though. There's some awesome sushi places, and they do a good taster dish for people new to sushi, and there's a lovely place in Newport Beach with so many fresh dishes. They have the best shrimp cocktail.

Yes, you defo should! And slowly work putting on sunscreen into your daily routine :)

Well, I lived outside of OC for a couple of years in a group home big house but we didn't really do outings as such. Sounds expensive like I should check it out, thanks :)

Haha, yeah. I'll go to CVS now. I'm Christy, btw.

Well, if you ever want a tour or just to see some sights, I'm Blossom. :) I sometimes forget to introduce myself.

You can give me a call or text if you wanna, [number]. I know being new around these parts can be hard sometimes.

The east coast. I left from New York.

0/10 would not recommend.

I honestly didn't realize that it would take that long to get across country by bus.

It's a big country. I'm not a huge fan of flying, plus it's more expensive, so greyhound it was.

It definitely is. That's understandable; flying isn't for everyone. So, what made you decide to move across country?

Place I work for does intern work. A friend runs a bar, though I think that's changing hands soon. There's an outreach center for at risk youths, keeping them out of juvie, that always needs help.

School in the fall, hopefully. I took a year out, so I'm starting in September.

It's a nice change of pace out here, I lived about an hour from OC for a few years and had to head back to NYC to go pick up some stuff. But now I'm here for good, or at least for the next four years.
