The dreams never cease to find new ways to make life interesting. I was awoken this morning by a mountain of snow piled atop me. I was forced to shovel it out the window this morning before it could melt and do too much damage to the hardwood.

I shudder to think about what the downstairs neighbours must have thought when they saw it falling past their window. I can only hope that they were still asleep at six this morning.

Now I know not to ask you to go skiing.

I take no issue with the cold, save for when it appears unannounced in my bedroom.

Though, I will admit to have never been skiing.

What were you doing in your dream? Scaling the Himalayas?

Is that invitation to invite?

Flying through them, actually. We encountered some feral dragons, and the ruckus caused us to be buried in an avalanche.

I would not be opposed, so long as I can find from work.

...Half right then. I'm glad you're okay, shoveling snow in Orange County nonwithstanding.

Do you want to go with me on my skiing trip during holiday break?

I have never wished I had a proper shovel as much as I had this morning. There was such a lot of it.

Let me know the dates, and I will be sure to put a request in.

Worth it for dragons, aye?

I have the 24th of December to the 3rd of January off, but I'm not leaving until the 28th.

Yes, it always is a treat being able to dream of Temeraire, though I am not entirely confident about these feral dragons.

I will do my best. Given that I rarely ship out these days, it shouldn't be too difficult to get the time.

As long as you don't wake up with something too bad.

I'll change my reservation for two. We'll have to get you some ski equipment.

I can make no promises, but that's my hope as well.

I've no issue with simply renting my equipment once we arrive. I'm certain that I will not go often enough to justify buying my own.

Rental stuff is usually broken in, too, which is better. Sorry there's no dragons where we're going, that I know of anyway.

That isn't a surprise. I'm afraid there are no dragons anywhere. At least, not ones that aren't from other people's dreams.

Where will we be going?

Lake Tahoe. Get away from California for a bit. Have you ever been?

I cannot say I have, but the google images show me it's very picturesque. Do you go skiing there often?

Every year. I'm not very good at it, but I like going.

That makes me feel a little better. It would be a bit intimidating to go for the first time if you were exceptionally skilled.

The only thing I'm exceptionally skilled at is shooting a gun. You have nothing to worry about. Well, except maybe other avalanches.

Perhaps we might go shooting together sometime as well. I do try to practice my marksmanship as often as possible.

I should hope that the slopes would be groomed enough to hopefully avoid that possibility.

What do you shoot with? I'd love to get some target practice with you.

It's rare. Don't worry, I'll be there with you anyway.

I would hardly call myself an enthusiast. We most often use the mounted guns on our ships, but I would hate to find myself remiss in my firearms training were my duty to require it.

My building has a handyman, though I would not say no to having the information of another. While he did fine work, he left me waiting entirely too long the last time I required his services.

I used a basket to scoop it out my bedroom window until I could clear a path out of my bedroom so that I might use the bathtub instead.

The floor looks as though it took a little water damage, which is unfortunate, but luckily nothing else that couldn't get wet had any melt on it.

[info]finninabox

The floor can ultimately be fixed or at least covered up, if need be.

I am curious though about what you dreamt to cause snow to appear in your room.

Yes, I'm sure it would not be too difficult to find a tasteful rug to cover it up with while I wait for a convenient time to repair it.

I'm afraid that my companions and I were caught in an avalanche in my last dream. We are lucky that there was only one causality and no major injuries from anyone in our party, however.

I had a feeling that it had to be something along those lines in order for that much snow to cross over.

Ah, if only life had more of such conveniences. It does seem as though the handyman he has hired is a dreamer though.
