Scientists have discovered a completely new species related to humans. I'm positively fascinated by this discovery. Analysis of the bone fragments they've found shows a relation to Australopithecus, more widely known as Lucy, as well as close relations to various Homo species, including Homo Sapiens. They've called this species Homo luzonensis, but as they haven't been able to extract DNA from the fossils they've found, they don't know where in the chain of evolution these relatives of ours fall.

I just really wish I could be in that lab right now. To study another close relative of ours that we previously didn't know existed? That's like a dream come true right there for me.

No, it was more like we ruined their experiment? At least for starters. They had this whole apparent nature vs nurture thing going. They wanted to know if people with identical genetics raised in completely different environments would be completely different individuals or if we'd have things in common. But some of us became self-aware and were fighting back. Long story short, they decided that we were obsolete and were trying to eliminate us since we were causing too much trouble for them.

It's a really complicated story, but my Dreams definitely have a heavy sci-fi nightmare vibe at times.

That sounds like it would have gotten them in all sorts of trouble with an ethics community somewhere if they'd been found out. The experiment in general, though especially the eliminating the subjects once they started doing things they didn't like.

I'm sorry you have to dream all of that.
