I got a lighter, a surfboard, and apparently, I joined the Navy. I didn't see the Navy thing coming, but I can say the dreams came full circle.

It's funny that it's been a long time since new things happened. I'm not surprised about some of it. It's always a murder mystery of some sort, always the ups and downs. My girlfriend doesn't trust me. We makeup and break up. If I don't do all the right things, we just don't work. I had totally forgotten about Dick though. He lives up to his name, but there are times that I wish the guy was really around. I need his sense of humor.

After all the stops and starts, and one more mystery - the girl and I end up together. I flew into the sunset and back to finish up my tour in the Navy.

Thank me for this cliff notes version.

Is this Top Gun, but with surfboards? And the navy instead of air force? And less cool nicknames?

So basically not Top Gun, but whatever. Still cool.

Actually, Top Gun is Navy, not Air Force.

I wasn't a pilot though. The dreams were very non-specific, so probably a much less cool nickname.

Yep. Navy, and there have always been stuff out there about which service had the best pilots, especially back then. I'd say Navy.

Not just boats. They don't have the fleet of aircraft that the airforce does. They specialize in fighters which can also land on aircraft carriers. There is even a line in that movie. "I want to do my duty and be the best fighter pilot in the Navy, Sir."

Alright, I'm gonna take that. My fashion senses are tingling.

I haven't went at that time for so long. I need a good dusk to night ride. My work schedule kept me away from that but it's quite a bit better now.

Yes, you came to save me from one of my many mistakes. You and Piz - I don't even want to think how that might have happened. I'm still a little weirded out by that.

Notice that I did not say that I made good decisions.

Life in the military is life in the military. I had to go back to whatever duty I had. Still weird. Just seeing me in uniform was strange.
