The good thing about being from a time zone that is two hours behind local time is that I can use those “extra hours” to completely finish unpacking and decorating my apartment.

The bad thing is that I lose some sleep cause I’m trying to wake up at a normal time here.

Any tips for going to sleep earlier? I’ve tried but I just end up staring at the ceiling.

I have always found a hot cup of chamomile before bed helps speed the process along.

I really like the lavender and cedar wood pillow mist from Bath and Body Works as well as the Sleepy lotion from Lush.

Yeah, it's an aromatherapy mist you spray on your pillow so you breathe it in while you try to sleep. Pretty self explanatory.

It doesn't actually make you sleepy, but again it's another aromatherapy type item. But I find that it works fairly well for me.

I’ve never tried aroma therapy. I may look into it though. What do I have to lose besides sleep?

ZzzQuil Sleep-Aid works if you want to get knocked out by meds.

Stay up too late the first night, then by the second night you get tired enough to go to bed at a reasonable hour then you are on the right time zone. Fighting it just doesn't work.

Only one I've ever found that works for me to reset when I move timezones is to stay up all night and then go to bed at the time I want to start sleeping. I'll crash hard and it resets my internal clock.

It's not the greatest way to spend a day that's true. Probably fed into my caffeine habit in a big way. But there's no other way to do it that I've found actually works. Because trying to force yourself to sleep might end up the same results - zombie mode.
