I think I finally have gotten over the fact my last attempt at a boyfriend really did up and leave. I'm accepting that it was probably me, I'm a complicated mess of a person with this ability and all.

But I also know working sixteen hours at the Cafe won't fix anything. I need to step back and reconnect with my friends, all of whom I've alienated. Maybe I should have my managers manage, and me only stop by to do menu changes, for awhile.

I think it's weird that I've been in a relationship so long. I didn't have a great track record. I don't know how perfect we are sometimes, but we have a son now so we make it work.

Are you interested in dating again? I'm not saying me either. I've got enough on my plate, but in general.

That's a complicated answer - both yes and no. Yes, because I really did miss the human contact. And no, because I don't think anyone is really up to trying to handle my abilities.

It would be a very boring life if it were smooth sailing.

I steal powers, memories, skills with a touch. My skin's deadly. It's... awkward at best. I've managed some control over it but not a ton, so it's often fully covered head to toe.

No. Not without things in the way - like fabric and stuff. Not quite the same, really. I have some control, a lot more than I started with. It's not perfect, have managed a minute or two at a time so far.

I've been near seasick, but we've really gotten better over the last year.

That might be a lot of the problem right there. That's huge with the whole no touchy thing. If you could date normally, would you?

I do.

Yeah, I bet that makes for some stares... but that underarmor or whatever that material is keeps you cool, if you've never heard of it. Dudes doing construction swear by it.

Yeah, I've got some. It's still a little uncomfortable at times. Plus I work in a kitchen over the stove. Though I might back off from that.

It's mostly the worst because you don't realise how much in a day you touch skin with people.

I think so. I'm still figuring them out, but I can make a tiny rain cloud rain over a few of the rose bushes in the garden at present.
