I'm sure the neighbors yelling or cheering wasn't because the investigators on this documentary I'm watching found the location of Tesla's Colorado Springs lab, or at least where they think it was, but I think it's super exciting so the timing was really neat.

Big sportsball game and you're all excited about Tesla, it's cute.

So when are we building a tesla coil?

Nikola Tesla's Death Ray! It's actually an investigative documentary series based off declassified information about Tesla's murder. So there's an army investigator and Tesla historian chasing down leads on where his missing documents went, and then an engineering group who are wanting to attempt to build the Death Ray with what information they have/knowledge of his practices in copper and wireless work.

So an actual documentary or a docudrama? It sounds really interesting.

Actual documentary! Well, investigative one spread over a few episodes but there's no dramatization or anything like you would find in a docudrama.

Still sounds really interesting. Did they manage to build it?

No but I'm pretty sure I could build a Tesla coil if I want.

It's actually interesting because they managed to get into the archives at the Tesla museum in Serbia and see and scan his actual documents so they have more than just an idea of what he would have done. Of course the important pages are missing and that's something they plan to hunt down as well.

In my dreams, I actually met Nikola Tesla. He's a brilliant man, far better than Edison ever was, in my own opinion.

I did. I met him at the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago. Wish I could've spent more time with him, though.

That sounds so cool! I mean, even briefly though more time is obviously better if you could have. I wish I could meet him.

It was rather cool. Though I could perhaps do the next best thing for you meeting him. In my dreams, he designed a stun gun that was used by the place I worked for. I have such a stun gun, made with a tesla coil of course. Though I made my own modifications to it, but it is still something he invented that the rest of the world does not know about. If that would interest you at all?

Right? I mean, I pretty much do that anyway. But apparently there was a sports thing I forgot about. Cheering over finding the location of Tesla's Colorado Springs lab is much better though.

The Super Bowl. Which I kind of only half watched since my team didn't make it. So what are they going to do if they did find it?

Right, that. I don't really follow sports so yeah. But basically they're trying to build Tesla's Death Ray, so the investigative team was looking for clues on what he may have been thinking or might have hidden things. Like his there are rumors of his New Jersey lab having tunnels. While there weren't any tunnels at the Colorado Springs location, they figured out that he would use grounding mechanisms in his experiments and worked from there.

I fully credit my dad's for why I do. But it's also about hanging out with friends for me.

I'm not sure whether to be intrigued or terrified by the idea of someone trying to build a Death ray.

That makes sense!

It's really interesting. A lot of the people in Serbia who the investigators were talking to were all "No it's very dangerous if the plans get out." And how it would give people reason to have Tesla murdered if he did finish it or not. They managed to make a scale model version work, so the finale is going to see if they can make the large one work while making sure nothing goes wrong because of how bad that could get if random electricity went away from where it's supposed to with the inductor so that the beam is controlled.
