It's decidedly strange, when moving to a new place, when the list of things you should check out includes a network.

I expected the laundromats, the coffee houses, the entertainment shit. A network? Wasn't on my priority list until it was brought up, and then curiosity.

So what's the big deal?

You mean I just moved to the loony bin section of California? I knew I should've got with San Francisco.

So I'm going to see aliens? Really? I notice you just blazed through the part where you're married to the aliens.

Yep, that's us. Welcome to the loony bin.

Plenty of aliens, though these aren't as great as my alien husband. He started off human, but this place can sometimes literally change you. It's a lot, to say the least.

Okay, I'm really starting to think drink and drugs are required at this point.

This explanation better be exceptionally detailed and with an open bar.

Around here? They are. At least at first.

Sure thing. It's the least I can do.

Oh, by the way...and do you have sufficient weaponry? If not, I can hook you up.

At first? Like people just get used to it?

Define sufficient? Am I defending the country or just myself? I'm armed, but not exactly army level. I am curious what 'alien invasion' sufficient is though.

Surprisingly so. Your definition of 'wow, that's fucked up' shifts a lot.

We're talking assault rifles and cryo blasters against these things. Lots of firepower.

This might actually be interesting. At least let me see where my bullshit meter ends.

I don't think my handguns fall into that arsenal zone. Cryo blaster? You're going to refrigerate them?

Freeze them. To death. It's kind of like a nifty attachment to a rifle.

It'll be kind of fun, too.

Why am I not entirely surprised that you find freezing aliens prospective fun?

I'm just predictable in my awesomeness, I guess.

But yeah, I'll drop by wherever you are and give you a crash course on these pressing matters first. And weapons.

At least it's a dependable kind of predictable.

Laguna Beach, I will pre-warn, I'm still unpacking. If this invasion screws with my security deposit, I'll be less than pleased.
