Why does everything want me to go to Alaska. I feel like we all know Alaska is a bad place to go when you are me. Can we not go to Alaska? I would like to not go to Alaska. But of course I'm going. :|

The gods have no power in Alaska...and apparently someone's supposed to drown. Mars just said, "Go to Alaska. Find Thanatos and free him. Come back by sundown on June twenty-fourth or die." Which was helpful. Naturally.

Percy, Frank, and I'm going with two other demigods.

Yep. Or die. I really hope so, but I don't even know. I've never been on a quest before and Mars gave it to his son, who chose us. I'm pretty much hoping that we make it through and no one dies.

Yeah. I mean, I hate to repeat myself, so I don't think dying would be the way I'd go. But also Also Thanatos is the god of death. What if he makes me stop being alive when we free him? That's what I'm worried about. That and Alaska was where I died. It's not Alaska's fault that it's my least favorite place. I feel like I should apologize to it, but...

Some inanimate objects have souls, I think, but that's a little much. I mean it's a whole state.

I'll-ask-about getting you off the hook for it but somehow I doubt the gods'll buy it. Also I don't think I exactly have access to them. Are you going in the winter or the summer? 'cause I hear it's not too bad in the summer, or at least parts of it aren't.

Eh, close enough, I'll take it. That's unfortunate, 'cause I don't think I have much use for a winter jacket out here, unless I turn real Californian and start thinking of 50 degrees as cold. Maybe turn up the AC and turn the house arctic for a while.

In my dreams. I died there. In my dreams. In an island a little ways out. We also can't get help from the gods there because for some reason, Alaska is the only place where they don't have any power. We're going to free the god of death.

It sort of encompasses all of the afterlife. Elysium is probably the Greek and Roman version of Heaven. The Fields of Asphodel would be Purgatory and the Fields of Punishment would be Hell. I was in Asphodel.

That's probably just as difficult. Maybe.

It's not too hard. I just had to climb over a wall. The tricky part was getting back in without being caught. And the FBI finding out.

It's okay. ...Well, it's not, but I didn't want Mom to be in the Fields of Punishment, so it was an acceptable alternative.

Oh. That doesn't sound too tricky. Outside of getting back in. Still, it's probably a lot of work.

I More like she made very bad decisions and her decisions got her sentenced to the Fields of Punishment. I got Elysium, but I traded it in to save her. In my dreams.

My mother let her greed get in her way. The people in Louisiana weren't always nice to her and would call her a witch, but...I guess that happens. Still, she...she put others lives at risk because of greed. I see that now, but I didn't then. Selling cursed jewels to people isn't really a very good life choice.

I'm sure you would have if you could have. We can't always save everyone. Nico knows that better than I do
