Lots of posts on being thankful. Some on family. Some on health. Some on life in general. Me? I'm thankful to be myself again and to have my sister. There aren't words enough to show my gratitude for her. Our shop is doing well. It's all-in-all a great time of year for us.

You better. I'm the only brother you got.

And you're the best brother a sister could ask for.

How about for wings? Been a while since we went out just to eat and relax.

That it has been. I'll meet you at Breadcrumbs and we'll go from there.

It was very good, Maleficent. There aren't much better ways to spend a holiday than with family.

Good, I'm glad to hear that. There aren't. My mother appeared to enjoy herself, so that's something at least.

That sounds great. I wish my parents were still around. It would be nice to see what they think of the pair of us, Gretel and me.

It was nice, and not that stressful except for the whole skillet issue. I'm sure that they would be proud of you both.

I hope you're right. It's good you look after your mom. You're a real good person, Maleficent. A great one.

I'm pretty confident in my answer. I wouldn't go that far, but I appreciate the compliment nonetheless, Hansel.

Ah, the joys of consumerism and holiday seasons.

It does seem that everyone around here gets very sappy though.

Sappy? I would say that's right. I can handle it as long as the consumerism brings them into my store.

Isn't it just. Then again, perhaps LA jaded me.

And just what does your store deal in?

Pretty hard not to get jaded in LA.

Breadcrumbs is a specialty shop for outdoors apparel and gear. My sister and I are working on a second store. We do adventure weekend trips for people interested in exploring yet not ready to do it on their own.

What about you? What kind of work you in? Acting?

Truer words.

I can't say I've ever been an 'adventure outdoors' type, I'd probably get lost without cell signals, but that does sound like a darling little enterprise. Adventure seems to be an exciting prospect for some.

Oh, darling, you flatter. I'm actually in the business of investments. Frightfully dull I must say, but painfully lucrative.

I can't imagine a world stuck inside with nothing but technology all around. I need the wilderness to keep me sane.

Money makes the world go round, right?

Does it make you happy? I think that's the most important part.

I dare say I'd be the worst companion in the wilderness. The forest would likely clash with my shoes.

That it does. Which is why it's very important to have a competitive product.

Oh, that's a very complex answer to a very simple question. The shortened answer would be most of the time. The longer answer would take a while.

Never really looked at shoes much. I can say if you're worried about the outside clashing with them? They're not liable to be much good to you the way I trek.

I got time to listen if you ever need an ear. I figure if it's at least most of the time? You're ahead of the curve.

I could spend my days looking at shoes, and I wouldn't even have to leave my closet to do it. Considering the price tag on these things (and I do mean figuratively) I doubt I'd be wearing them anywhere near the wilderness.

It's a tawdry tale of a stubborn young woman giving her domineering, manipulative, ass of a father the middle finger by systematically sabotaging her own life until she became a replica. So to speak. But yes, most of the time I'm quite content.
