I have visited the beach at night. The results are thus: people are extremely receptive to strangers if they are accompanied by a handful of mates. I earned several dollars offering to create miniature sand castles for them in the dark, money of which I have since donated. Now, a collective mass has contributed to the less fortunate. I am not certain if this qualifies as 'doing something crazy,' but I thought my task accomplished as one couple threw sand at me, somewhat cruelly, and I recall the adjective used in lieu of other much more unnecessary expletives.

Are we truly living in a world where we must be leery of every suit-wearing lunatic on the beach?

Wait, hold up. Who wears a suit to the beach??

I thought it might qualify as part of the crazy requisite. I also do not own any pairs of shorts.

You're right, it does. Though we've got to get you some shorts or something.

I'll find those punks who threw sand at you and kick the crap out of them. But overall, you liked it? Had a good time? Built some castles? I'm impressed, Viz.

Is it necessary?

No need, my friend. I cannot fault them for preemptively attempting to defend themselves. It was enjoyable, the water was especially soothing. It is fortunate I thought to bring a change of clothes.

Well, for your comfort, maybe! Plus, suits can be expensive. You gotta save them for like, stuffy business meetings and to make the secretaries swoon.

At least you enjoyed yourself, I'm glad. I might need to make a night beach trip myself soon here too.

Ah, yes. I have been very frugal with my suit purchases. They are only clothes, in the end. Do they often make secretaries swoon, suits?

I am grateful for the suggestion. If the recent times have taught me anything at all, it is that I have gravely undervalued my time on this Earth.

True. If only we could all just go around naked. But secretaries do generally swoon over suits. There's something hot about the way a man looks in one.

No problem, man. I've got more suggestions if you ever need them. And I guess that's true. You never know what could happen.

Yes, that is a thought I have often held. Clothes, however, do have their own appropriate purposes. Hm. I see. That is interesting.

I think I will attempt to do something strange every week.

You know, if we went around naked I'd be out of a job, so maybe it's not such a good idea. But speaking of swooning, you're a good-looking guy, you go on any dates lately?

That's an awesome idea! Like, go to Disney and flush every toilet in the park.

That is true. Many would be out of the job in the clothing business, too. Dates? No, I have not in some time.

Would that be enjoyable?

That's a shame. You'd probably know how to show someone a good time. Ladies, if that's your thing. Or dudes.

Maybe?? Or do a Disney Food Tour. Have you ever been?

It's the 21st century, people have to get with the times.

Okay, we'll fix that too. But you might need some shorts. It's hot outside.

Yes, I agree. Preferences in partners are inconsequential to keeping this earth spinning.

My adventure next week will involve acquiring shorts in some peculiar fashion, then.

People tend to often react negatively when they see things out of their cultural norm.

I believe in peace, but if I were in your shoes I would have flung sand back in their general direction.

Indeed. I cannot fault them for swiftly jumping to the defensive. I am uncertain as to how I would react to someone approaching me the same way as I did many on the beach.

Although, it does pose the question of what they hoped to accomplish in the long run with the sand. Nonetheless, I did not mind the affront.

They wanted to express their disdain, but opted to throw something that wouldn't get them a lawsuit is what I'm going to assume. Less harmless than a shoe, or a brick.

That is a very logical course of action. Is it better to assume the worst of others and remain safe, or dare to hope for the best?

I was pleased that the latter overshadowed the former.

Well, I think a certain degree of skepticism is healthy. Hope for the best, but expect that sometimes things will not go as you want them to go. People will either pleasantly surprise you or disappoint you.

And I agree with that! Good on you for the donation, Vision.

As always, your wisdom prevails. People all too often fear the fall that comes with disappointment or failure, which is a shame. One must bear the early stumbles in order to learn how to regain footing faster.

The money, I think, was not mine to keep. I was happy to put it towards those who needed it more.

Well, no, I guess you can't, but there are better ways of dealing with that fear than throwing sand at someone.

Besides, its a beach! People build sandcastles on the beach all the time...maybe not at night...and maybe not in a suit, but still! That's no reason to throw sand at someone!

Right...

Well, at least it was only one couple. It sounds as if the majority of people you came across were cool with you making them a sandcastle.

Out of curiosity, what made you decide to build sandcastles on the beach at night in the first place?

Yes, the good most certainly outweighed the bad. It was an entertaining evening.

It was suggested to me that I do something crazy. The location provided was the beach, and the time, night. I reasoned sandcastles built at night a peculiar notion. It would seem I was correct in my hypothesis.

It is not, in my opinion, a stupid question. I would not classify any question as stupid, as any inquiry made is done so in the pursuit of knowledge. That is the most intelligent thing a person can do.

As for my motivation, my friend tells me it is occasionally good to change things up in your life. She is very wise.

Unfortunately it seems that we are living in that sort of world.

I don't see how anyone could view someone offering to build them a sand castle as a threat.

Yes. I lament not being able to assuage their concerns.

An unfamiliar man in a suit speaking of sandcastles does not seem to be a threatening figure, and yet you add in the darkness and anyone can appear unseemly, I suppose.

It sounds as though most people appreciated your offer though so perhaps there's still some hope.

It does seem that way unfortunately. And now I find myself thinking about going to the beach to build sandcastles sometime soon.

Sometimes it can be a little harder to find than others I think.

I'll keep that in mind and probably dress a little more casually when I go. But then I think my formal wear might be a little more difficult to move easily on in the beach than yours.

That is what makes it so beautiful.

It is a wise decision to dress comfortably. If your formal wear entails dresses, then I would be inclined to agree.
