It is nice to wake up and find, for once, my dreams have given me something that is not dirt and that will not inflict harm. Though I admit I have little use for fifteenth century fashion or a sword, but they are finely made so perhaps I will find a place to display the sword.

I do think there are several on this network who have received such a gift, yes?

Depends. Sometimes fear keeps you alive.

Is fear what motivates you?

In a sense. Everyone has fears, but holding back fear makes you stronger.

Your practicality pleases me.

This is a very deep conversation to have out in the open-- Does it? Now you can't ever erase that sentiment, because it's on the internet forever.

I find it to be both admirable and endearing, in its way.

Can I ask why I got sent to your office to drop off paperwork like six times last week though--

What's that saying? Sometimes you have to jump and build your wings on the way down? It makes sense.

I am afraid I have never heard it. Even after all this years, some idioms and colloquialisms escape me.

There are some odd ones in English anyway.

Granted, not as odd as the Romanian way of conveying nervousness by saying you have a carrot in your ass.

Pah. I would say the Germans have odder sayings. Kummerspeck comes to mind.

Ah, la vache! Are you guilty of Kummerspeck yourself?

Thankfully not. I would hope the same for you.

Can't say that I am. But when you see me on Monday you can take a closer look to be sure.

You ought to be careful of the offers you make.

I didn't--

What.

Well, I just meant that you can see and. Because you have really good vision, don't you? 20/20? Maybe 20/15? Carrots--- No, don't talk about carrots-- Spinach has a lot of lutein in it.

I was merely joking. Apologies if I have made you uncomfortable.

Unless you would like

I find conservation online difficult. I dislike the lack of verbal and visual cues you get in proper conversation.

You mean ":p" isn't enough of a cue for you?

But I tend to agree. I prefer face to face interactions and proper conversations. There's a lot you can pick up via body language.

I know well enough that neither you nor I would ever stoop to such levels as ":p".
