I never thought California temperatures would feel like a relief, but so far this is a heck of a lot more pleasant than Zambia was. No complaints here.

	Arid. More descriptively, a lot less depressing than some parts of Africa, but still fairly impoverished. The people I met were all lovely, though, and very appreciative of the library we built. Most of them are farmers so starvation isn't as huge a problem as education at the moment. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	We were mostly putting the structure together, but they'd already received about two dozen donations at the point when I left, and they'd only been accepting them for two days. So here's hoping that they'll have a real collection by the end of the week or so. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
