I am seeking a flatmate and have been informed by coworkers this may be of use. The flat is located at [Address], Anaheim, CA. I will interview any who are interested.

Direct all inquiries to Sherlock Holmes.

Generally when one advertises for a flatmate, they provide a bit more than the address.

The monthly rent is quite reasonable at eight hundred and sixty, two bathrooms, two bedrooms and a total square foot of eleven hundred. It is listed as having more, but whoever calculated the number was an imbecile.

However, if you are expecting some flowery introduction from me, you won't get one.

It's not really a good way of going about convincing someone to live with you, is all I'm saying.

That does seem a rather good deal, though.

I would rather let the flat speak for itself. I'm not exactly looking for a friend, just someone to share the rent.

I should be around most of the day if you would like to look around the place.

But you are looking for someone who appeals to you. Why else would you be holding interviews? Ideally if you're going to be holed up in eleven hundred square feet with another person, you want to get along at least on a basic level.

I'm in lecture until around half past two, is that too late?

I'm interested in finding someone reliable. I don't anticipate spending much time in the flat and 'getting along on a basic level', by my definition, is someone who will not attempt to force themselves into my life and in return, I will do the same.

No, I should still have time to spare then.

Living with someone is sort of forcing yourself into their life. Just so you're aware. There's a direct correlation between two ways of living and how that works or doesn't work.

Then I'll try to swing by.

Consider me curious: Exactly what is this correlation?

I shall be expecting you.

It's a direct effect on one's well being, isn't it? One flatmate snores, the other can't sleep. One watches the telly too loudly, the other can't concentrate. One eats all the food, the other wants to strangle them. You have to, on some small degree, have a level of harmony between people if they're going to successfully live together.

My name's John, by the way.

Regardless, I fail to see how that relates to someone digging for insight into my life outside of any bad habits I might have. If you would like a list of some of said habits, I could easily detail them for you and leave it at that.

No - no, I'm not implying that anyone needs to do any digging. You just can't live with a person if you don't go together. You can't.

Have you ever tested the theory, or are you making assumptions based on some magazine article you've read once?

I have spent a lot of time living with a lot of people. You learn a bit about how to coexist with another person.

I spent enough time living amongst a group to know necessity and requirement trump any issues regarding compatibility.

Honesty goes further than flattery and pointless niceties.

Yes, well, I'll see you sometime between half past two and three o'clock.
