Hiccup is so not a Viking ([info]hiccup_) wrote in [info]valarnet,

I'm so ready for Thanksgiving break. I'm also not ready for finals to start, but I am ready for this semester to be over. But, I think there's quite a few college students that completely agree with my sentiments.

But, I am mainly excited for Thanksgiving. This is my first real Thanksgiving in a while that won't involve trying to cook whatever my dad decided to hunt in the woods. I've missed stuffing, sweet potatoes with mini marshmallows, and even those canned cranberries. But, I wouldn't put it past my dad to attempt to go out and hunt his own turkey. He's so weird sometimes.

Maybe I'll convince my mother to just buy a turkey from the grocery store just in case. And if anyone has some really good family recipes they want to share with people - please let me know! I want to try making a lot of different things this year.

Wonder if I could get Nymeria to catch a turkey for us. Then again, she might just eat it if she did catch one.

That is the most likely outcome in this scenario. I mean, you could train her not to eat them up when she catches one, but that'll take some work.

Yeah and we might run out of turkeys by the time she gets it. Took her awhile to comprehend getting things I told her to in the dreams.

Yeaaaah, don't reccommend doing that then, haha.

The last thing we need is a turkey shortage.

I don't think that's possible. They run around like crazy sometimes.

True. We might just be safe from turkey extinction.

So, she can eat a couple, but not too many!

Yeah, cause even if it doesn't result in a turkey shortage, I wouldn't want her to get fat and lazy off too many turkeys.

I wonder if the tryptophan in turkey thing that happens in humans also happens in animals. Interesting thing to google later.

That's a good question. I never thought about that before.

Yeah, get a turkey from a grocery store like the rest of civilization.

Mashed sweet pototoes with mini marshmallows, though? Mmm. Make those.

You try telling my dad to be like the rest of civilization!

Only for you. I'll even add extra marshmallows. You are coming, right?

....yeah, true. I'll pass.

No, Hiccup. I'm going to a stripclub and eating a turkey leg off a pole. Happy Thanksgiving!

You know I would come with you if that was true, right?

And take lots of photos.

Ugh, you would.

But, yeah. I'm coming. Anything I should bring? I can't really cook but I'll...buy...something.

Mwhaha.

Hm. Maybe pick up some rolls or something? Or you can find a recipe, bring the ingredients over, and I'll make it for you.

Rolls. I can do rolls. No one can really mess up on rolls.

And awe, aren't you the sweetest.

Though, seeing your dad and knowing he's some badass gnarly viking chiefton is going to be strange. No sign of him dreaming by any chance, huh?

That's why I gave you something easy. Gotta ease you into it.

I am. That's why you love like me so much.

Right? And sadly, no. I asked him the other day if he's ever dreamt of being a Viking and he just rolled his eyes at me.

Gotta love like a man who knows his place in the kitchen.

Man, that'd be the day, if he ever does. Last I dreamt was dragon racing - the one you missed because you decided to go and doodle maps instead. I'm the Viking daughter he's always wanted. :P

I still think it's my mac and cheese pizza that won you over.

Ha ha. Yes, you're the prefect Viking and I'm just the cute guy who likes to doodle and fly with his awesome dragon. But you two can totally bond over how alike you two are if he ever does dream,

I'll let you keep wondering. Could have been the poofy hair, for all you know.

Oh, we so will, if the day ever comes. Trust me. I actually kind of wish Ruffnut and the rest were actually around to join the crazy.

Of course I say that now, but if they ever do they'd annoy me to the point of strangulation.

My hair is majestic, isn't it? Face it, it was the whole package that won you over.

I kind of do too. I miss having them around when I wake up from the dreams. We have such a weird ragtag group that it's a lot of fun.

And that would be worth seeing. Thankfully we live in a place bigger than Berk now.
