I am unsure whether dreaming (or Dreaming, as some people call it here) of someone I have met before is more or less unsettling than Dreaming of someone I haven't.

And so I turn the question to you, Network. What are your thoughts on the matter?

I guess it all depends on what you're dreaming. Or Dreaming. Personally, I find it stranger to dream about someone and then meeting them after the fact.

I think that would, indeed, be unsettling. A strange sense of the familiar. Like deja vu, but not quite.

Exactly that. It's odd, in any case.

The French likely have a word for it. Or perhaps the Germans. They tend to have a word for everything.

Depends. Did they try to kill you in the Dream?

No, neither of them did. For which I am thankful.

That's good.

Personally, I find it more unsettling when you realize that the person that you've heard so much about, or even met, is someone else entirely in the Dreams.

I have, perhaps thankfully, not had that experience. The person I know here is nearly exactly as he is in my dreams.

Yeah, that's easier to deal with. Although sometimes that can create confusion too.

Like...my boyfriend here is a guy I dreamed about, but he's not my boyfriend in the Dreams, even though we're pretty close to being the same people there are we are here. Details have changed obviously, but I feel like we're the same people mostly in terms of personality, and I know that the Other!me would've totally boned him if the opportunity had ever come up, but it never did, so. I sometimes wonder if I only like him because of that? Like am I living out Other!me's fantasy? Or is it my fantasy too?

Possibly I think about this too much.

Having been through both scenarios, I suppose it depends on the dynamics at play.

The dynamics are vastly different, from what I have seen. The one I've met is very similar to his Dream persona, and so I have to wonder if this applies to the other.
