Disregard this if I was misinformed, but my physician mentioned this to me when I told her I was having persistent and repetitive nightmares dreams. I'm not exactly a frequenter of these types of things, but I was hoping to learn something that could help with this.

These dreams wouldn't be about a fire, would they?

I'm not sure how that's relevant, even if that were the case.

Oh, it's extremely relevant.

Recurring dreams about say, flying or being naked in public...well, that's pretty common and is something to work through with your therapist until you get over your "issues."

Recurring sudden onset dreams about a house burning down in Northern California...that's something else entirely.

I fail to see how a recurring dream about a fire is any different than the ones you listed.

Oh, come on, Peter. You're smarter than that.

You know why it's different. It feels different. It feels real.

Oh, and just FYI...I've heard that people can even wake up changed from their dreams. Like...if someone gets hurt in a dream, they can wake up hurt in real life.

If I'm not mistaken, that reads almost like you're hoping for something and that's bordering on sociopathic, isn't it? I don't even know who you are. Unless I worked on your stock portfolio and lost you money, I can't figure out why you would be interested in me getting hurt through a dream.

You're mistaken.

I just thought you should know that what happens to you in the dreams can happen here.

Seriously? You're on

Apparently Derek's had these types of dreams. Can't say I know what they're about though. Other will, though.

Cora? This isn't like the Facebook thing you told me not to use, god forbid I embarrass all of you.

I'm sure whatever this is will pass. I'm probably just working too hard.

...Yes. Yes it is.

I'm not so sure about that. Apparently the fact Lydia and I haven't had these dreams is strange or something.Even if me not having them might be a good thing?

I've just been having the same one for a couple of days. I'm sure it's nothing. It has to be nothing.

Couldn't tell you. All I know is what I've been told, and that they'll feel different.

Like I said, I don't know personally, just from what I've seen. It feels different, like a memory or something supposedly.

I'm not sure I would want this dream to be a memory.

Is it really that common of a phenomenon? I didn't know anything about it until I spoke with my doctor.

Were I your physician, I might have recommended a therapist. Though being a psychiatrist myself, I may be biased.

I have a dislike of admitting to my own problems. I believe that defeats the purpose when dealing with a therapist.
