Someone asked me today why if I was a Veteran [to be fair I do have a photo of me on the wall with my uniform on with a friend, but I lost that friend so its a memory], why am I working on cars, and that I looked healthy enough, why wasn't I still serving. Asshole is lucky I was halfway under a car, I couldn't throw a wrench at his head. Don't, just don't. Injury took me out. And I'm not going back to aggravate it. It's bad enough some days at the shop I wish I could just quit for the day because of the ache. Why are people so seriously insensitive?

If he comes back, tell 'em you'll sic your friend who worked black ops on him. Because now you have one.

Always nice to have one of those around. I'm Mercy. He got lucky. I couldn't scrabble out from under the car fast enough. But his car's sitting here to be fixed. Too bad I'm a nice person.

That's funny, I'm not. My name's Nicholas Wolfwood, but everyone calls me Wolfwood. And while I can't obviously go into detail about working said ops, it's a good thing to tell people who need scaring.

I'm sorry about your loss, by the way. I made lieutenant, so I had to do a lot of notification letters.

Wolfwood, a pleasure. Everyone just calls me Mercy, and I must live up to the name half the time. I'd never ask. I know the drill. Did some time working in an area where half the stuff I did I couldn't talk about.

Thank you. Died doing what he loved, and while it sucks for me, I know he'd rather me be smilin' bout it than moping. I... would have hated that job, I won't lie.

It wasn't fun, but at least I could look out for my guys. I got honorably discharged when I got shot, and I still think about 'em.

But yeah. We have to look after our own, and I'd have told that guy where to get off. Your reasons are your own.

Fair enough - it's nice knowing someone will think of you when you go. I took one to the knee and ankle, had to get a replacement knee. I worry about my friends still in daily, though.

It's a fine line between what I'd like to say to people and keeping my business running, sometimes I have to bite my tongue and play nice, when all I really want to do is let loose.

Be fun to show some of them just how well a knee replacement really is these days.

What a douche. Should have punched him in the throat.

Shoulda but didn't want the assault charge. To much hassle.

Sounds like an asshole. Charge him double on labor; call it a charge for all your hard work resisting the urge to throw your wrench.

Speaking of injuries, how're your knuckles?

See there's a good idea. There was a lot of effort put in to not beat him with a wrench. I will be telling him not to come back.

They're good, managed to let them heal a bit, I keep ripping the scabs open but eh, they don't hurt.

Most people lack tact. To be honest, it's not really their damn business about why we are no longer in the service.
