I won one of them fancy computer doohickeys at a raffle last week! Now that I finally figured out how to get it working I reckon it'd be a good time say howdy to all my neighbors on this net thingie.

I'm Anna-Jean Macintosh, but everyone calls me AJ. It's a real pleasure to meet ya'll!

Some of the people on this net thingie are nutters. Then you get the ones who need to be stabbed in the testicles.

Well I'll be! I'm from Oklahoma. It's a real pleasure to see more of us country folk all the way out here.

Now I don't believe that for a second, Jim. Once a country heart, always a country heart.

My first time WAS in a haystack

You're probably right. I'll have to bow to your country heart.

Came out to join the Navy, ended up staying out here when that didn't pan out. I like the sun.

The sunshine is mighty nice out here. It's a shame more folks don't stop to enjoy it every once in a while.

I'm Steve - it's been a while since I moved down from New York, but I remember it being a bit of an adjustment. The good news? The weather's much better.

Now you talkin' 'bout the state part of New York, or the big ol' city?

Tell me about it. All this hustle and bustle is just plum weird compared to Oklahoma. Least the sun seems to be shinin' all the time!

Brooklyn. I'm a Brooklyn kid, but we moved down when I was still a teenager.

Was it nice there? I dunno much about Brooklyn. The one time I was in New York, the folks I was stayin' with kinda looked down on that part of town. Said it was "uncouth" or some hooey.

I don't know if 'nice' is the word. It was home and I still miss it, but there were negatives to go with the positives. Lots of cement, lots of people packed close in. I liked the activity and how easy it was to go visit my friend Bucky, but when I moved out here I liked that there was grass and sky, too.

I hear ya. Home's home, no matter where you're from, and it must be nice to have "next door" mean right next to ya, not a five minute ride across a couple acres. I just don't reckon I could live somewhere so busy all the time, with no space to breathe.

Yes ma'am I am! Lived there my whole life, up until a couple months ago. We moved the whole gosh darned farm out here. It's mighty different, but that ain't always a bad thing.

You lived a lot of places, sugar?

Wow, that's gotta be impressive for that scale of a move!

I have. My mom's job has her move a lot but we settled into Irvine finally. I've been here just a little over a year now.

Well of course people still do raffles! They're a darn good way of fundraisin', specially if you get local businesses to help.

Mighty fine to meet you too, RD.

Guess I've been spending too much time running and not enough time actually, y'know, paying attention to stuff like that. Should really fix that.
