This is a very sensitive and delicate matter and I would ordinarily not offend sensibilities with asking about it, but I do have a question regarding ah... carnal activities. Is it considered true that allowing someone to perform sex and/or participating oneself can help to distract you from unpleasant thoughts and feelings? I am told it is enjoyable enough and there are many things I would need to put behind me so...if this is true.

Would any of the gentlemen on this board be willing to assist me. I HAVE promised to remain at a friend's party for the next forty eight hours but you may meet me there and use a private room? Or underneath a table? Perhaps it is time to explore this option for a change and I am willing now to have that done.

You have seen my picture but to give more details, I am six feet and one inch, weigh approximately one hundred and twenty five pounds, and have blue eyes. And I am told my accent is "incredibly provencal", that is Southern French. Is anyone here willing to assist?

((Mun Note: This is actually an attempt by Enjolras to ward off his memories of his death and those of his friends. He has no idea what he is doing and...I'm totally okay running with that if you and your pup are but I realize this is a potentially triggering situation and wished to be upfront about that fact before anyone comments))

	It is true. A lot of people will use sex as a way of coping with things or distracting themselves from them. I know I have in the past. It works for a little while, but depending what you're trying to forget, it doesn't always last for long. In your case, if you've never done it before, you should be sure that you want to go this route before getting in too deep. (Reply to this) (Thread)

I know we just met, but I'd be willing to come by and maybe we could talk for awhile. It doesn't have to be about what you're trying to forget since that's the whole point, but you might wind up finding a different way to distract yourself.

But then if you still wanted to try doing it this way, I could try and help that way too. I mean, you don't always have to have full blown sex. Sometimes just kissing is a good distraction for awhile.

	I cannot dissuade you from doing anything, but I think it would be a terrible idea to allow a random stranger to take that kind of liberty on your person. People do carry disease, after all. It just seems ... very out of character, I suppose. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Here's the thing about sex, and using it to get over things: it's really temporary. You might feel good for five minutes or so, but then you also might feel guilty or squicky or violated and strange and none of that is going to help the past. It'll make it worse.
