I had the most wonderful dream, last night.

I dreamed that I built the Paris Opera House.

Well, not only me. Charles Garnier (no relation) helped, of course. He and I struck up a sort of odd friendship, in this dream world of mine. We worked together for fifteen years to build the opera house of our collective dreams.

And the best part -- oh, my friends, the best part was that I had my very own palace.

Deep underneath the Paris Opera House, I had a vast and complicated house, with its own lake. One had to get there by boat. By boat! How romantic.

And Aisha was there with me, as always. My little princess, of course she would wiggle her way into my dreams.

That's not hard to imagine. I might paint it, if you don't mind.

Please do, I'd love to see what you imagine my humble home to look like.

It had a room with an organ all along one wall, for me to work on my music. And the bedroom had a satin lined coffin where I slept. Very macabre, no?

That sounds beautiful. And sexy. Both.

I'll paint it and bring it to you soon. I. Uh. Miss you.

I'm glad I've met someone who can appreciate the allure of a coffin bed. Unless you're talking about the organ, in which case I have one of those in my basement here.

You ought to come over sometime and I'll play something on the organ or the piano for you.

Both, actually.

I'll trade you: a painting for a song.

Well I think that sounds like a very fair deal to me. A new painting or the one you were working on before?

Which would you prefer? The new one would be of your palace.

The new one, I think. I want to hang it up over my fireplace, to remind me constantly of that wonderful dream I had.

Then you'll have the new one. Two days?

At your leisure, my dear.

Oh that sounds like a fantastic dream! Building an Opera House, living in a palace that you have to get to by boat...

Your dream self is very lucky!

An underground palace, no less! Perhaps that will be my next project. That, or building a moat around my yard.

An underground palace would be far more feasible than the moat. I think the HOA would find issue with a moat.

I'll simply have to settle for renovating my basement, then.

I guess so. But that could still be plenty fun.
