Vala strode to her fridge and pulled out the bottle of rosé she had put in there earlier. She didn't know whether Faye liked rosé, but she had yet to meet anyone who didn't, so it seemed like a safe bet. If not, then her bar was stocked pretty well with wine, spirits and mixers. Pouring two glasses out into two wine glasses, Vala stood at the kitchen counter, sipping her wine and waiting for the doorbell to ring.

"I'm pretty sure delivery guys should be used to women pointing to where furniture should go, it's in the job description" she grinned, "Thankfully my sister and I were able to find a place with furniture already in it" she added. They tried to always do that, or buy cheap so when they left they didn't have to worry about taking any of the crap with them. Growing up in the care system made you kind of nomadic in that way. "And if this is what you can do shopping online only you need to be quarantined more often" she joked, Vala really did have great taste and a good eye though.

	Vala laughed, absently twirling one of her pigtails around her finger as she looked around. "It just didn't seem feasible to ship my stuff over from Oz, so instead of selling up I just left it there," her smile faltered. "Weell..." Vala winced at the thought. "I'll put it this way...he gives the word 'flaky' a whole new definition," she replied bitterly. "But, he's my father and he needed a place to stay," she started leading them out to the balcony. "This is his last chance though...if I go back and my house is trashed or someone else is living there I'll drive him out into the bush myself and leave him there!"

	Vala opened up the sliding balcony doors and led them out to look at the view. "Honestly, I give him too many chances," she admitted, leaning on the railing and sipping her wine. The view from Vala's balcony was breathtaking. Faye couldn't help wishing, just a bit, that she could give Vika this kind of life but wishing never got you anywhere so she pushed it away to focus on Vala.

Faye smiled softly, how many people had she confused with that one, "Technically I'm her legal guardian, we aren't actually related. We both grew up in 'care'. When I got out I got a job and a place to live as soon as possible then submitted the paperwork to get her out too" she explained, "She's my only family and I guess we chose each other" she shrugged, sometimes she wondered if she did the right thing, it wasn't as if she had given Vika the best life but she seemed fairly happy with her lot.

	Faye chuckled, "It is what it is, we're lucky to have each other" she replied casually. "Well now" Faye said, "a theme is always a good place to start. If you want one that is. 	"As my dad always says, always look on the bright side of life," Vala chirped, turning and looking back into the apartment as she leant back on her elbows on the railing. "Amazing! Love it! Do it!" Vala raised her arms in triumph, grinning as she walked back into the house, eyeballing the large open plan room and imagining what it could look like. "What about red, black and white drapes hanging all over the shop," she held her hand out in front of her and swept it around the room as she tried to picture it. "Oh!" she turned round to Faye. "I want those indoor flares too, I don't know why, they just seem cool," she shrugged a little.

Faye laughed at the enthusiasm but couldn't help be infected by it herself. "Oh that would be great" she responded when Vala suggested the drapes. "Funnily enough I know exactly where to get those from, leave it to me" she said when indoor flares were mentioned, you met all sorts of interesting people working in a nightclub. There probably wasn't much Faye couldn't lay her hands on.

"Oh darlin'" Faye drawled, "you need to come to the club. All of my bar staff know how to do that and we specialize in cocktails"

Faye wasn't just bragging, Always did have one of the largest cocktail menu's that even Faye had ever seen and as such needed staff who knew what they were doing.

"I'm sure I can convince a few to help us out" she assured the other woman.

"Amazing," Vala grinned. "I like where this is going," she raised her glass to clink with Faye's. "Now, I feel like there should be a dj around the pool area, what do you think? I mean, I'm new so don't really want to piss off the neighbours too much, but on the other hand...it's California...I kind of want a pool party..." she looked back towards the balcony as she considered.

	"Definitely a DJ round the pool" Faye agreed immediately, "Best way to handle grumpy neighbours is when they come round to complain, you just invite them in. "I normally don't like to be talked into things, but that is a brilliant idea!" Vala raised her glass in a mock toast, downing the rest of her drink. "Right, so screw the neighbours, have a good time and drink lots," Vala grinned, this was the kind of planning she liked, simple yet effective. "Speaking of..." she made her way behind the island counter in her kitchen and opened up the cupboard beneath it. "That wine is sooo...not going to be served on the night, how do you fancy something a little different?" she pulled two bottles of spirits out of the cupboard and waved them by their necks at Faye with a huge grin on her face.
