The club was decked out in silver, blue and white for the Winter Wonderland themed New Year's Eve celebration. The DJ was playing a good selection of music and people were busy getting drunk and having a wonderful time with friends. And that was her intention, to create a fun safe place for people to ring in the New Year.

	That earned an embarrassed laugh from Teddy, and he ducked his head. "I didn't...I'm sorry, you're right. That was a bad pick-up line. Let me buy you a drink to make up for it," he replied, and there was coyness, there, and slight teasing. He had no intention of picking up Kate, but bullshitting her--that he could do. 	Of course she was. Theodore raised an eyebrow at the "too young" comment, since they were probably the same age, but signaled the bartender over anyway. "And what do you want to drink, Kate?" he replied. "I'm...." he paused. Who was he? Theodore Dorrek? Or Teddy Altman? He didn't even know himself, anymore. "...buying," he finished, hastily. 	Kate was just a bit ridiculous. She lifted her fingertips to brush them over the necklace hanging around her neck--a silver arrow, given to her for her birthday by her crush. What a silly thing. 	Teddy ordered another round of champagne and then watched her play with her necklace. Unconsciously, he fidgeted with his own necklace--a simple chain that held the engagement ring he'd bought for Billy, in another life. "Mmm." Kate pondered that for a moment. Then shook her head. "Nope. Sorry. That's not an acceptable response to 'there will be dancing.'" She said, teasing a bit. "Hi, Teddy. It's nice to meet you."

The bartender brought out two flutes of champagne and set them on the bar in front of the pair of them.

Kate lifted hers. "It's okay. You don't really have to dance. Just stand there and I'll dance around you. Like a Maypole." ...it was hard to tell if she was teasing.
