Hey everybody!
First off, I want to give a huge thank you to Sarah, who helped out a ton with updating the wiki. We actually had to do two sweeps to get all the old stuff out. It should be squeaky clean now! You guys do a great job of taking pups off the wiki when you drop them, and we really appreciate that.
Now that the wiki is clean, we're going to put a temporary freeze on new apps until after the Space Plot is finished. We want the spaceship to feel somewhat enclosed, so we don't want pups appearing and disappearing.***
I'm going to be posting crew assignments and emailing everybody with room assignments today and tomorrow. Plot will start on Friday! Woo!
***We MIGHT be able to make exceptions at some point during the week, using plot devices and such. Please email us if you really want to app a pup before/during the space plot, and we'll see what we can work out. |

You guys had some great ideas, and I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to respond to each comment. We will definitely be using some of them in the future!
First, though, we're going to do the space plot!
edit;Unless people have objections, the plot will start Friday, October 8. It would run approximately two weeks, until Friday October 22nd.
Space: We're talking deep, deep space. They won't be able to pull up Earth (or any other home planet) on any of their nav screens. They will have maps, and they can find out which planets are habitable, but they won't recognize any planets. This isn't any one sci-fi universe.
Assignments: There will be crew assignments. Pups will find their uniforms in their quarters (aka, the mods will email you) Some of them will make sense and the pup may readily accept and perform it. Some people may freak out and not want to do it. If someone else thinks they would be a better fit, they can step up.
Quarters: Some pups (captain, crew) will have their own cabins. Others may be expected to share. We will send out random room assignments to those that have roommates. Those will last all week.
Challenges: There will be mini-events or challenges throughout the week. They might have to rescue a derelict vessel, they may encounter aliens, you just don’t know! Check the OOC, because there will be new things to do each day. |

OKAY DUDES! It's been forever since we've had a plot. We were hoping to do the cartoon plot, and it never got off the ground because it's super hard to find cartoony icons for everyone. I know some people were really looking forward to it, though, and we aren't ruling it out. We just need some help with the logistics. Feel free to comment here or email us with ideas.
Today, I bring you three five plots for consideration. I want feedback! Which ones do you like the most? Which ones sound boring? Which one do you want to do next? I'd like to see a plot happen before the end of the month!
COMMENT! FEEDBACK! VOTE!
Option One: ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE! I know we've done it before, but zombies are always fun, right? We might have a twist or two in mind, and we're open to 'twists' if you guys have ideas too!
Option Two: Flash Forward. This idea is blatantly stolen from the ABC show FlashForward. If you haven't seen it, what happened is that everyone in the world blacked out for two minutes and had visions of their life six months in the future. Some of them were with people they'd never met before, some of them were working on top secret projects, some of them saw nothing, and assumed they would be dead in six months. Would be a way to explore possible futures for your pups, and see what they would do about it, knowing their own future. I predict chaos.
Option Three: Alien Abduction. Random pups would be abducted. This plot might culminate in an 'invasion' scenario with pups having to fight off aliens. Or maybe diplomacy could save the day! For the abductions, we'd have the option of taking volunteers or having the mods draw characters at random, using a random number generator. Please let me know which method you would prefer, and will go with what the majority wants.
Option Four: Under the Rainbow... IN SPACE! Everybody would suddenly be on a big spaceship, traveling in space lightyears away from Earth. What will happen? Who will you be assigned to bunk with? What are you going to do with all those tribbles under your bed?
Option Five: Random Plot! Yes, we've done it before, but it's random! It's never the same plot twice! Once again, I would email you random things/powers/roles/missions for your characters. This time, we might divide it into three or four sections, so that not everyone is crazy at the same time.
Option Six: YOU TELL ME! Comment or email us with plot ideas! We are up for just about anything!

ACTIVITY CHECK!
Hey guys! It's been a while since we've done one of these, but it's time for an activity check!
Please comment here with your name as the subject line. Mainly we want to know if you're still here. Please also list the pups that you are keeping and dropping (if any).
As usual, we ask you guys to self-police as to whether or not you think your characters are active enough. If you haven't played someone in months, and don't have any plans to do it in the future, you might want to think about dropping them.
If you have a character that has been inactive and you want to keep them, please try to post with them sometime this week. Again, we're all adults, so we're leaving it up to you to take care of that. We aren't going to go through the comms and pick out which of your pups need to post.
If you are dropping pups, please remove them from the wiki. Even if you aren't dropping any pups, please take a look at the wiki just to make sure you are up-to-date. I know we all get behind, sometimes. This is the time to double-check.

Especially if you have something like @live.com or @aol.com or... maybe just anything that isn't @gmail.com. (Probably if your app includes phrases like 'Enlarge your penis', it'll go to the spam folder, too)
ANYWAY. If you ever email us about something and don't hear back from us within a day, please poke at us. We aren't ignoring you, and I swear you won't bother us. I know other mods get annoyed if you poke at them, but we're not like that at all. We have been in games where mods delay replying just to be dicks to players they don't like, and we know how INCREDIBLY FUCKING WRONG THAT IS. We would never, ever do that. Please poke us! Okay look. I know that some of us aren't around as much as others. I myself barely post anymore and I suck because of that and everything, I get that. I really do. I'm not opposed to playing, I just never know what to post. But that is besides the point.
THE POINT IS, IF YOU FUCKERS DON'T START COMMUNICATING, I WILL HAVE TO PUT THE SMACK DOWN.
And I am serious. It goes both fucking ways. It is NOT that hard to open up an IM and tell someone that you want to do something with your character one way or another. Sometimes you might like it, and sometimes you might not. But the point is, NO ONE IS A DAMN MIND READER. We really can't figure all this shit out by brain waves.
So email people. IM them. Call them on the phone, I don't give a damn but please for the love of Satan.
COMMUNICATE.
Seriously, that's like our only rule. We let you have a shit ton of characters and really don't make you update on a regular basis. Do you know how awesome it is not to have an activity check? So don't be ungrateful.

ACTIVITY CHECK
We all know how this works, so I'll just run through the rules real quick.
1. Since we haven't had one of these in a really long time, I'm going to ask that you list all your characters. Comment here with your name in the subject line. List all your characters that you are keeping. No need to link to journals or actual activity or any of that. Also make note of anyone that you are dropping. If there are any that you haven't been playing lately, consider dropping them and letting someone else play them.
2. Make sure the wiki is up-to-date. All of your pups should be on the taken page and have pages of their own. If you have questions about this, please ask.

Hey kids :D
So.. I had an idea for a plot, though this is a little more.. extensive. And by extensive I don't mean like it's complicated.. far from it, but it requires some icon hunting.
This plot is simply that.. everyone becomes a cartoon. Kinda like being in Roger Rabbit in a way. That's where the hard part is. Not everyone's got cartoon counterparts, and stuff like that. So it's totally optional if you want to play. But basically.. the world is cartoonish, meaning you can fall off a cliff, and get back up two seconds later with the only thing that happens is that you turn into an accordion for a couple of moments.
You can blow yourself up and come right back to life. You can paint a cave on the side of the road and have a train actually come through. You know, the outlandish stuff.
We wouldn't do this for a couple of weeks, just to make sure everyone has time to get icons. If your character is a real person like from a tv show, maybe try looking for a cartoon/comic character that kinda looks like them? And having cartoon icons isn't necessary the important part is the plot. So don't like panic if you can't find anything. Though I think it would be funny if we could all assume that everyone looks like a cartoon, you know.. shit like that. They would definitely know they've suddenly gone all cartoony.
I've rambled a lot as usual. So.. yay? Nay? Move onto something else? |

I meant to do this back with the zombie plot, but I got distracted by all of the braaaaaains!! The violence moratorium is over! Go forth and kill things.
A few reminders before you run for your machetes and piano wire..
1.) From the FAQ... Crime doesn't pay. At least, not in public. There are a lot of crimefighters reading the boards, and if your character says that they've committed a felony in a public post, there WILL be consequences. This could make your pup unplayable if they wind up in jail. Breaking the law is okay, just don't discuss it in public where cops and capes can see! The mods reserve the right to determine if and how long pups will be locked away.
2.) Try to pace yourselves. Violence and killing is all well and good, but if it gets to the point again where it feels like the death and doom have taken over the boards and it's getting out of hand, the mods will step in.
3.) If you plan on killing a lot of people, give the mods a heads up. And as always, make sure to check with people whose pups will be affected via CR with the victim, etc.

PLEASE READ THIS!
Okay, so there's been a lot of doom and murdering sprees lately, and once again the mods have decided that we need to bring balance to the Forc--er, game. Don't want the good guys to get too burnt out. STARTING TUESDAY: This is a temporary moratorium on killing and violence and stuff, and it applies to EVERYONE. You can't even kill NPCs for now.
If your pup feels the urge to kill someone, they will suddenly feel very tired and decide to take a nap instead.
Vampires and other 'But I have to kill to survive!' types get tired too, and will have to either nibble on animals or just get a few sips where they can. No killing humans allowed.
I want to stress that this is not in direct response to any one person or event. Don't get paranoid and try to read more into it than is actually here. It was just a culmination of a lot of violence, and we're trying to space out the murder and mayhem.
This will probably only last a few weeks. We'll post to let you know when it's okay to start killing again.
FAQ + Clarifications that we had to make last time!
So the last time we did this, for those of you that don't remember, this one mun threw a big hissy fit and turned into a giant troll. It was ridiculous. She's gone now. I'm trying to preempt craziness by providing answers to any questions you might have.
1.) Monsters are not people. It's okay to kill them! (Duh.) Vampires too. (except of course the ones that are played by muns.) There aren't that many monster NPCs in UTR, but the ones that are, slay away. Do be aware that they can't actually be violent or kill anyone right now, so they're basically defenseless, but if you're up for killing monsters in cold blood, go for it.
2.) Crimefighting is also still okay. Go beat up a few baddies. Just don't murder or torture them, and oh, your pups can't get tortured or severely injured to the point of death either. If you were planning on it, just wait a few weeks, please. This game has been around for 3+ years; a few weeks isn't that long to wait.
3.) Backdated logs are okay. It's okay to play out some death and destruction that happened two weeks ago. Just make sure you label it as such, and don't bring it into the main comm.
4.) We are not asking you to act OOC. We are not asking bad guys to suddenly like rainbows and kittens. That's why we said the 'falling asleep' thing. You could get creative and say 'nausea' or 'migraines' too. Whatever it is, they find themselves physically unable to kill a human being.
5.) If you have questions or concerns, feel free to email Jewels and I. We are always receptive to player concerns. We are not big fans of idiots who misinterpret things and decide to become trolls instead of ask questions. Not that we think that will happen this time, because you all seem to be reasonable, intelligent human beings. (Thank you for that, by the way!)
Please email Jewels and I if you have more questions. The trollfest happened because someone had many concerns that they decided not to communicate until it exploded in wank the likes of which has never been seen in this community. So please please do not hesitate to email us!

If you sent in an app and haven't gotten a response, please send it again. Unless there's some sort of nuclear apocalypse, you should get a response within 24 hours. If it takes longer than that, give us a shout. We promise that we're not ignoring you! We don't do that sort of thing here.

Hey guys! You may or may not know that your friendly neighborhood mods are pretty spoiler-phobic. We do not like it, not at all. I don't even like to see previews. This rule change is more of a preventative than anything else, since we're in summer movie season now.
We've always had a NO SPOILERS IN THE COMM rule. We're now changing something a bit, to be overcautious. Movies in UTR-verse will not come out for two weeks after they come out in real life. Your pups can't see them for two weeks.
Sorry if you're excited about a movie and want your pups to post about it, we're just ridiculously paranoid about spoilers. Just wait two weeks and we'll all be happy. |

In celebration of Easter/Passover/Spring Equinox/Life Day/whatever ("But Mandy, Everyone knows that Life Day = Christmas, not Easter!" "Nobody likes a Know-It-All, Jack.") I bring you plot!
This plot is inspired by Christopher Moore's novel "Lust Lizard of Pine Cove". ( Plot spoilers )
Okay, how it's gonna work. Depressed people (mild to severe) will get horny. There won't be any sexual assault or anything--it doesn't drive them to violence. If they get turned down, they'd probably go to the next person, or just go home for some mucho masturbation. In short? This is a crack plot. An anti-emo plot, if you will. Don't make it emo!
Random pairings can happen. New couples can happen, or they can forget about it at the end of the week. It's not mandatory, but it should be a fun way to get your pups out of the dumps.
It'll probably happen in three or four weeks, if people like the idea.

Meaning that they don't have to just abruptly end, the powers can fade over the next couple of days or however you want. Just no new ones. Well until the next time we randomly do something. |

Okay, the Purifiers Plot is ending tonight! Obviously you can continue logs, but there won't be any new kidnapping. All of the different cells and holding places will be liberated by whichever rescue teams went in. Everybody will be freed tonight.

A NEW SURPRISE PLOT IS STARTING IN FOUR DAYS!!!
(This plot was brought to you by Jack, and most of the following words are his.)
As it happens, the reason the Purifiers were doing all of this was to gain genetic material on the various metas wandering around: the mutant gene is well documented, but other forms of superhumanity aren't. They have a device, basically a genetic bomb that targets mutants, and with more and more information, they can target other metas too. Even gods and other divine beings, which they consider to be "imitators." Torture and murder were a fringe benefit.
Tonight, they activate the gene bomb, but nothing happens. Well, something happens. All the lights go off and everything looks to happen the way the Purifiers expect, but no one dies. Alarmed that something has gone wrong, and aware that their entire organization is about to go belly-up, they scatter. Most of them never cause any trouble again, and a lot of them end up rounded up by cops, mutant groups, X-people, etc.
Now, on Friday, more and more people start developing powers. NPCs, PCs, everyone. Everyone. Even people that already have powers. The reason? Everyone on the planet is now a mutant. Whether the powers actually develop is up to the individual player, but the potential is there. It can be anything from flight to teleportation to psychic powers to always having minty fresh breath or being able to clean the windows with your mind.
It's only temporary, as the body doesn't usually want to have its entire genetic code changed, and will fight back. Some people may keep the powers, but most of them won't. It's basically the reverse of M-Day. Call it M-Day 2: Genetic Boogaloo.
Everyone (And I mean everyone!) is getting a super power. This is one of our rare non-optional plots. But we think it's gonna be fun for everybody! Who wouldn't want superpowers?
If you can't think of a superpower, or if you just enjoy things being random, email your friendly neighborhood mods and we will think of a random superpower for your pup. It'll be fun! You have until Friday to think of powers for all of your pups! |

Again, a reminder to talk to other muns and make sure they are okay with your pup getting kidnapped if you have CR with them! Some muns/people might not be up for the angst.

edit; Because some people are confused.. Some possible ideas for how you can play this out if you want!
*You could play out scenes of two people that have been kidnapped, talking to eachother in a cell or shackles or whatever.
*Anybody can NPC the purifiers in logs, if you want to have a scene between the kidnappers and the kidnapees. Some Purifiers are the classic X-Men style Purifiers, but a lot of them will be 'recruits'... Any old Joe off the street who happens to be a prejudiced asshole. You don't have to know X-Men to play in this plot, or to NPC a Purifier.

*If you want to have one of your pups be recruited by the Purifiers, it would be a good idea to email me and Jewels first. You can certainly do this, but keep in mind that they will have a LOT of pissed off pups to deal with on Monday, most of them with superpowers! There will be IC consequences, and it might not be fun.
If you have any other questions, you can talk to me and Jewels or Panther. Or anybody, really! Your fellow players probably have some great ideas. |

Purifier plot starts on Thursday. Really, any mutant/powered pup/magic pup/whatever is up for grabs. "Traitors" (Those that sympathize/fraternize with mutants etc) are also potential victims. Kidnapping, brainwashing, etc.etc. Go crazy.
HERE IS THE IMPORTANT PART!
You absolutely 100% HAVE to communicate to muns that your pup has CR with before you have your pup get kidnapped. Somebody might not want their spouse/child/whatever getting kidnapped. Make sure everyone is okay with it before you sign your pups up for torture, or there will be problems! |

If you're clueless about what it is, take a look at this And if you want examples, if you go to the main comm or the log comm, there's a tag that says something like timey wimey plot or time warp plot or something. Check there to get a feel of things.
We also need to do a poll about when's a good time for the purifiers/mutant hunt plot. That won't be for another month or so though.

Since it seems like everyone's okay with the plot, we need to figure out when to do it. So vote for your best time period to do the plot. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check the OOC.

So Panther had an idea for a plot involving another time warp:
Hokay, so we've got this plot idea. I know we've done something similar in the past, but it's been a while since we had any good crack, and it was fun times the last time.
There is a disturbance in the time field. Someone is wiggling the bowl of timey-wimey stuff, and odd things are happening because of it. Some people are unaffected, for one reason or another, and some are jetted back in their own timeline to the time when they were babies. Some people may become actual ancestors, with no memories of their current life. This works the other way too, with people becoming older (and having the memories of a whole life lived, instead of just being physically older), or even becoming their descendants from ten generations in the future.
When the plot ends some pups will remember it happened, some won't (at the mun's discretion). It will last about a week, though if you want your character to be stuck as whatever time warped version of themselves you choose, feel free.

READ ME!
Hey guys! We've got a possible plot idea and I want to know what you guys think. This especially affects muns of mutants and other powered-types, so READ THIS!
Without getting into too many details, this would be a temporary (two weeks or so) NPC appearance of the Purifiers, a very anti-mutant group. There would be kidnapping, torture and probably murder and/or murder attempts on mutants (obviously you would have to volunteer pups for this).
This is pretty dark stuff, so we would like to hear from all the mutant muns before we decide to do this. Basically a 'speak now or forever hold your peace' sorta deal. Let me know what you think. I want to hear your opinions. Hate it? Love it? Let us know. Comments are screened for mods eyes only, so go crazy. Tell us about your sex lives, your crazy family, or just throw in a lot of random profanity. We won't tell.
But really, we want to hear from everybody. Even if you don't have any mutant pups, your opinions are still welcome. This is a 100% drama-free safe space for comments. |

| {Mod Post} Holds |

Hey guys. Quick little note about holds. For them to be official, you need to email both mods the same way you would an app. We need a heads up so that we don't accidentally give the character away. That's always been a rule, and it's even written on the holds page. I don't want to see any more characters on the holds page that I haven't received an email about, okay? |

In case anyone accidentally deletes stuff off the wiki they didn't mean to here's how you fix it:
1. View the page that you currently deleted stuff off of.
2. On the right hand side across from the 'last edited by ___' there is a little clock, and a button that says Page History. Click it.
3. Click on the second to top date. The top date is the one you accidentally deleted stuff off of.
4. This will take you to a page that shows the page at that time it was saved. It will tell you how long ago that version was saved. If that is the page you want to revert back to, click Revert to this Version
5. It should take you back to the version that was last saved.
If it doesn't work or something, I dunno you'll have to do it manually.

| [Mod Post] Destruction and crime! |

Hey guys! Just a quick reminder. Changed something in the rules and like to keep you updated. It's not really a 'change' because it's always been an unwritten rule, but now we're actually getting around to making it written.
If you're plotting something that affects more than two or three other people, you should email both mods and give us a heads up. This is especially true if it could have a game-wide/world-wide effect. Stuff that affects public buildings and areas (like blowing them up or whatever) needs mod-approval. I hesitate to even say 'approval', because we're hardly ever going to say 'no.' We just need to know about it before you start posting about it.
Also guys, remember that pups shouldn't go around posting about their violence and criminal activity in public. Seriously, brush up on the rules if you're confused! There are consequences for discussing crimes in public, even if your character is very powerful.

Time for another activity check, guys!
You know the drill.
Step 1: Comment here with your name in the subject line and let us know you're still active. You can list your characters if you want to, but mainly we want to know that you're still here. You have until noon on Sunday, November 16th.
Step 2: Think about your list o' pups. If there are any that you don't play often, you should either get them active or think about dropping them. Remember that your characters should be posting at least once a month.
Step 3: Check the wiki. It should be 100% up to date. That means your characters are listed on the main page, on your player page, and there are links to their pages. Wiki Basics. Dropped characters need to be removed, too. When you app a new character, your wiki needs to be up to date before you bring the new one in.
Again, the activity check is due on Sunday, November 16th at noon. |
