Who: Nancy Drew and Lionel Sweeney
What: More adventures in Hawaii
When: Today/tonight
Where: Uh.. Hawaii?
Warnings: Possibly some yep :P

After having found Lionel and getting herself dressed and fed, the two of them started off towards 3 Fingers Rock. She'd looked it up on the blackberry and finally found the coordinates and put them on the GPS system. She let him drive, since he seemed to think that she was bad luck on the road. That was certainly possible. When they couldn't drive anymore, she got out of the car and walked across another bridge with him.

There were little flags that seemed to point the way, and a table underneath this tree, along with a clipboard and some other stuff but no sign of Dr. Quigley. She started to look around. "Dr. Quigley?" she called.

After a moment, she heard a voice, "Nancy Drew? Up here?" Oh yes. She was up the tree.

After he'd taken the aspirin and drank some water to wash them down, he groaned again when the two of them lifted him up off the floor and got him a little steady on his feet. At first he tried to walk, but that didn't go far when he wobbled. Guess he was still a little woozy from the knock to the head.

"I walked in to barter with Mike and I surprised someone else snooping. Good alibi," he nodded. Oh hell, she was driving. That probably meant they were going to run off a cliff now. "But I don't feel like lying down. We've got work to do."

Yes, she was driving. She really was a good driver. Accidents in the car never happened to her. Her father drilled her too hard about the importance of automobile care. "Well .. you can give me the stuff and I'll look it over and then you take a small nap and then we go. You're hurt.. that comes first."

And amazingly, she was doing a good job with the car, not getting into any accidents or anything on the way. She parked the car once back at camp and then moved around to help him out of the car and into the tent. "Come on.. let's lie down.."

Christ, he was being babied, and Lionel was very opposed to that. In fact, the entire ride, he protested that he'd be fine and he didn't really need to lie down. Once his headache ever faded, he'd be good as gold. But she wouldn't hear any of that. Reluctantly, Lionel got out of the car and headed inside of their tent, stretching out on their makeshift bed. He reached and pulled the papers out of his pocket and zipped it back up, then handed them over to Nancy for her to read. Maybe lying down would make his headache go away quicker.

Yawning, he made room for her to lie down next to him, one arm curled under his head, mindful of the knot, and the other outstretched for her to get close so he could wrap his arm around her.

Taking the papers from him, she finally lie down next to him and curled up around him some so that he could hold onto her. Of course she was going to look over the papers first. She went through them, hmming to herself as she tried to figure out exactly what all of that stuff meant. "Well it looks like Big Mike is up to something, but we should do some more poking around before we go accusing someone of something."

She finally put her head down on his shoulder, "Let me know when the advil has kicked in and you feel better so we can go.."

Lionel had closed his eyes, but he hadn't fallen asleep yet. "Up to something? Hmm. In the shop there was a date circled with a dollar sign on it and in the locked cabinet I found a map with coordinates marked with another dollar sign. That was the last thing I found before I was hit." Then he smiled, "But I memorized them before whoever got a chance to hit me."

"Oh? Well what were they?" all of a sudden she sat up to go get a paper and to write it all down so that neither of them forgot. "oh and what date was it that was circled?" she hm'd. "We're going to have to drive out there. Maybe I should go take a small look while you lay here? I won't be gone too long and I won't even get out of the car, I promise."

"The coordinates are 100, 35, which are somewhere on this island and the date was two dates from today." When she mentioned leaving his sight, his arm clenched around her and dark, intense eyes stared down at her. "You will do no such thing. You're not going anywhere out here without me. Getting hit on the head is the least of the things that could happen." She'd lost her mind if she thought he was going to let her go somewhere alone when people were already snooping around and trying to prevent them from finding out what was going on around here.

Nancy scribbled down the coordinates on the paper and the date and tried to think. She pulled out her blackberry to see if it actually told her where she was going so she wouldn't be surprised. "Someone obviously doesn't want us snooping.. and .." she saw him staring down at her. "Lionel.. I'll be fine. I'm not even going to get out of the car! And you have to rest. I won't be gone that long. I'll even call you and talk to you the whole time on the phone."

He still wasn't pleased with that response. "What if something happens to you and you have the car? I can't get to you." There was a small pained expression on his face, like genuine worry. "Can't you just wait until my headache is gone? It will probably be an hour at most."

Pouting? For real? Okay, fine. She couldn't resist pouting, or him looking hurt like that. "Okay.. I'll stay.. just rest.." mostly she just wanted him to feel better. But she'd be antsy Nancy until they were all ready to go. She curled back up around him, putting everything beside her and snuggled into him. "Just relax.. nothing will happen to me.. I promise."

"I've read the books, and since someone was writing those, your fate was decided. This is real, and you could die." He sighed in relief that she was listening to him this time, and she could feel his body relax more now that she'd acquiesced to his wish. "It will be nice to be home in our own bed in a few days," he said, softly stroking her hip.

She just looked at him and then resigned to not arguing anymore because it was going to give her a headache, much less him. "Yeah it will.. I miss home. But we do have a job to do.." she put one of her arms around him and then slid her hand up inside, just because she knew his hair was likely to start growing back and she liked touching him.

"I know, if I'd have paid attention, I wouldn't have this knot on the back of my head," which was still tender to the touch. There was already a fine layer of hair starting to grow back in the day's time on his back and chest, and they hadn't really had the time to shave him, so until then, he'd keep t-shirts on. His own hand mimicked hers and slid under the back of her shirt softly stroking the smooth skin as he kissed her forehead.

"It's not your fault.." she told him gently. She liked this, just kind of snuggling against him and touching him. She felt safe, and secure and loved. "Love you.." she murmured into his ear and snuggled in closer. "Now get some rest.. because I think.. I might just fall asleep here.." her eyes were already starting to shut.

"I love you, too..." he whispered against her forehead and wrapped his arms fully around her. He'd never gotten the chance to do this before, so really spend time enjoying someone he loved. He'd been living on borrowed time before.

He was still kissing her face lightly, his fingers tracing along the bit of skin peeking out from under her shirt on her hip. "I dreamt we had a baby last night," he said after a minute or so of silence.

There was silence and stillness in the tent before he said the words that nearly made her eyes pop out of her skull. It made her lift up her head at him. "... A baby? Like.. already? Or I was pregnant?" oh wow. He was dreaming about having kids with her? Was she ready for that? Bring on the full blown panic attack.

"Pregnant, I think. I don't remember seeing an actual baby." And he was sure he'd remember seeing a kid that was hairy or not. He didn't want to alarm her or anything. It was just a dream, after all. People had dreams all the time. He was waiting for her to freak out about it, but Lionel hadn't expressed an interest in reproducing this entire time.

Yeah but he wouldn't have brought it up at all if it didn't mean something to him. "Uh huh.. were you.. happy about it? Was I?" she was just kind of freaking out. "I.. I mean I.. never thought.. I mean I love you and all I just didn't think, oh yes this means let's go have a baby.." honestly, she would've just thought that he wouldn't want to pass what he had on to anyone else. "Were we married?"

He didn't mean to worry her or anything. "I didn't say we had to jump on making children. It was just a dream, Nancy. People dream about having families all of the time." Not that Lionel put much stock into dreams anyway. Product of an overactive imagination. "We're fine and happy just the way we are." And he kissed her. "I'm not expecting you to have my baby."

His headache was starting to go away a little. "I don't know if we were. I don't remember many of the details. I think you're reading into this a bit too much."

"Sorry.. sorry.." she mumbled. Yeah she was making too big of a deal of it she supposed. It was just a dream, but she wondered if there wasn't something to it. Because this sort of thing seemed to happen in this world they'd found themselves in. She kissed him though, and snuggled up against him. She wondered if he really did want a baby. There they went again not really talking to each other. "You're right.. it's just a dream."

Lionel wasn't really aware of that happening in their world yet. Spontaneous children and all of that. He just knew people griped about weird things happening to them, then paid little mind to it because it didn't concern him. Lionel was horrible when it came to talking about feelings, and it'd taken him this long to really think about how he felt about her, to realize he was that much in love. "Maybe one day...but not right now."

Right. Discussion over with. They'd think about kids some other time. She glanced up at him, "Are you okay? I mean are you feeling better?" she sat up some to kiss his forehead and check the knot on his head to see if it had gone down any, though she made sure that she wasn't going to touch it. She didn't want to hurt him after all.

He tilted his head some for her to examine the knot on his head, wincing a little as she grazed it. "My headache's down to a dull throb." It was probably going to take a day or so for the knot to go away, but the headache would be over in a little while. He was still functioning, anyway. "I'm not going to die from it, it's just a bump on the head." He'd had worse happen to him back in his other life.

"Yes okay I know you're not going to die from it, but I don't know how to take care of other people. It's always just myself.. and my dad.. but my dad doesn't usually get clobbered. Just me.." she shrugged a little. She knew that he wanted her to stop worrying, but she couldn't. At least not yet.

"I know, I know. I've taken care of myself for years. I promise I'm fine and I'll be alright." Though the prickly hair on his back was starting to itch a little as was the hair on his front. "When we get home, I'm going to make an appointment about this electrolysis thing. It'd be nice to see my face all of the time." And the rest of him, for that matter.
